Default Roll on Monday!

I would like to post here for now, if that’s okay? I would like to keep a record of things over the next week or so. Any feed back and support would be much appreciated.

I will talk with a psychiatrist on Monday for the first time since the early nineties. That’s when I was diagnosed with a schizoid personality disorder and went on disability.

I don't know about the schizoid thing and I often wonder if I was misdiagnosed. I do have a dissociative identity thing going on. But older now, most of that seems to have 'faded', but under stress it can become an issue.

I'm feeling fine with just a little bit of 'niggling' going on. I just need to keep busy over the weekend and Monday will come around soon enough.

Okay. Not long now. My appointments is in the morning. I don't expect to get much sleep. And if I'm true to form, I'll get there too early and walk around the block till it's time. I'll pop in to morrow with an update.

Hey Rose,
Good luck with the appointment, be proud of yourself your actually taking steps to get better. I've been on ssdi for a few years now and look forward to actually returning to work. You will learn more about yourself and realize things get easier over time.

Erik

Okay, I'm going to need time to get my head around this. The person I saw today was very nice and after an hour long chat, and the occasional glance at my notes, she told me that she thought I was suffering from a 'schizoaffective disorder' - "The schizoaffective pattern tends to be episodic, with a good prognosis." I've been doing some reading. She is sending a med recommendation to my doctor, I have an appointment to see him on Wednesday, and another one to see her again in two weeks. I’m feeling a lot better for having got that far. I’m usually not good with meds, I’m the on again off again type. But I think I’ll give this new one a chance. I’m just so tired.
