Default Can you name this for me please?

Remembering that it's winter here in Australia at the moment, can one of you lovely ladies please tell me what this pretty little bush is that has burst into full bloom?

The flowers started out white, but now are turning mauve. It's about 2 foot tal but I have no idea how long it's been in the garden as we only moved in 5 months ago.

Here's a photo for you to look at.

I'm not sure but my best guess would be some sort of weigelia, and I doubt I spelled that right.

Thanks Frank, but this doesn't look like the Baby's Breath that I know. Thank you though. I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Thank you Brain. I looked at some different photos of Weigelia (and yes you did spell it right) and I couldn't find one that looked like this.

Mine has tiny clusters of miniature white bells with dark centrers, the approx size being 2 pin heads to each bloom.

The leaf is a tiny straight one not unlike a pine needle . A forward slash / is about the thickness, shape and similar size, although the peice I'ce cut off has smaller needle type leaves.

No, it's not Lavender. We have that planted as a mini hedge between the roses, across the front of the house and into the first part of our driveway.

Yes it is pretty Sandy, and that's why I'm so interested in finding out more about it.

Before I can mail you a piece Shiney Sue, first we have to name it, then we need to find some-one in the Customs Dept who we can bribe, then we.........only joking Officer!

That is a nice little bush! I found a virtual plant tag site, an expanded search goes indepth with zones, shape, foliage, height, etc.. I,m sure you'll find it there. virtualplanttags.com Good-luck.
