No, it's not Lavender. We have that planted as a mini hedge between the roses, across the front of the house and into the first part of our driveway.

Yes it is pretty Sandy, and that's why I'm so interested in finding out more about it.

Before I can mail you a piece Shiney Sue, first we have to name it, then we need to find some-one in the Customs Dept who we can bribe, then we.........only joking Officer!

It kind of looks like maybe, possibly a type of lilac? Does it smell good?

It looks like Bridal Wreath Spirea from the photos.

No perfume Sandy, I'm afraid.

I looked up Bridal Wreath Spirea and although similar, the flowers are not quite the same. I daresay my little bush is of the same genus and I'll have to be content with that.

Thank you FG others for your help.

When did you take the picture? Is it in bloom now? Can you take a closer picture of the flower and maybe the leaves for me? When I get home I will look at some pictures and see what I can come up with. It does look familiar I may be able to come up with the name...

Thank you FG. Yes the bush is in full bloom and I only took the photo 2 days ago.

I'll see how I go with a close up, but my little camera is probably not the best for that type of picture. It's raining today, but I'll get out when it stops.

Thank you very much.

I finally named the bush I was asking about.

I saw it at a nursery yesterday and it's an Australian native called Diosma, or Pink Breath of Heaven. No wonder you had trouble trying to name it for me FG, being an Ozzie native.

Thank you so much anyway. Your efforts were much appreciated.
