When did you take the picture? Is it in bloom now? Can you take a closer picture of the flower and maybe the leaves for me? When I get home I will look at some pictures and see what I can come up with. It does look familiar I may be able to come up with the name...

Thank you FG. Yes the bush is in full bloom and I only took the photo 2 days ago.
I'll see how I go with a close up, but my little camera is probably not the best for that type of picture. It's raining today, but I'll get out when it stops. Thank you very much. ![]()

The closest so far has been the Bridal Wreath one, so I still think it must be a variety of that genus. I cut some off and tried to do the close up thing, but wasn't very successful with this little camera I'm afraid. Also the flowers are dying off now, so the following picture doesn't look so pretty in a close up. Most of the flowers remained white while some turned pale pink, others went a dark pink/lilac in colour if that helps at all. I placed a biro nib against the flowers to get you some perception of size. ![]()

Ah, that helped a lot...its common name is Wax Flower and we use it a lot in floral arrangements!!! It's botanical name is Chamelaucium uncinatum and is very common in Western Australia!

The one you mentioned above is native to Western Australia and the sites I checked said that it grew there and north of Sydney in the humidity, where-as Tasmania (the southern state where I live) is the ice, frost and winter snow state of Oz. Thanks so much for taking the time to try and name it for me. I really appreciate the time you put into it. ![]()

The color that you described is the same as well. If you do a google search for Wax Flower and click on images you will find some pretty good pictures that look almost exactly the same. Good luck! Happy to help you out! ![]()
