Default sorta back...

Hey everyone,

I have been off for a little bit due to a hospital stay. I went to the hospital and actually passed out while I was walking in. Ironic? Well, upon waking I found out a few things. One- Im anemic! They drew blood and I am happy to say atleast I was out for that part of it. (Needlephobic) I thought that might explain a lot of the issues Ive been having but they of course did more tests to be sure. Ok, so something is going on with my VP but its not overly urgent. Dr has set me up with some meds to help me sleep (insomnia) and an emergency referral to go see a pcp that I now have thanks to the er! So going to the county hospital (and passing out there so I didnt have to wait, lol) wasnt a waste and I was able to get on the ball atleast. First step is to see the pcp and get a referral to see the ns. I guess since its county and I am not on my own insurance I have to go through the steps. But the er told me to get my happy self back there asap if I feel the slightest bit off. Of course now I am a bit overly paranoid. I get "sharp twinges" on the side the vp is on and also a burning sensation since I left the er and I keep wanting to go back. Well, I wanted to update everyone and I hope all of you are doing well. I wont be on much this week until I can get into the dr though. Er dr said its not good to strain my eyes (excess pc time) because it can cause the vp to act up. Never heard of it but I am not risking anything.

(((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))))). I'm so sorry about your detour into the hosp as a patient. Bummer...but at least anemia is usually fairly easy to treat. In any case, I'm glad you're okay and it's not your shunt (yet).

Hang in, and keep us posted, okay?

Sorry it took the ER to get you there, but glad you are getting the help you deserve. I am anemic too... and it stinks. I am finally getting a bit better, so not as tired all the time. I hope you can get all this settled without major surgery or expense!

hi all, thanks for your responses and prayers. They definetly mean alot. Unfortunately tonight I have been having what I can only describe as, well I guess actually explain it cuz i dont know what to call it. I was lyiny on the bed while my mother sat next to me and I felt like a warmth move over me and then everything would rush in on me fast. I shook my head to get rid of it, it went away for a second. Then came back again. All the sudden I felt dixxy, while lying down. My mom helped me up but a still have somewhat of a burning sensation in my head and neck. I feel very off so (yay) I am going bak to the ER in the morning. I am honestly afraid to go to sleep right now! I keep praying that I will be ok because this is very new and the dr may have said that its not urgent but I feel it may be. I am so scared right now that I could cry. I probly sound like a hypochondriac. My mom swares I imagine it but I sware I dont. I cant make her understand it because she doesnt have it. I appreciate you all letting me vent on here though. I will hopefully be able to let all of you know an actual result soon as to whats up with me. Maybe I am crazy? I hope so, I am scared for it to be anything else, if that makes sense.

I went through 25 years of bizarre sensations every couple of months, and no one seemed to have any clue what they were about. Anxiety, hypochondria, and mental illness were all considered. I finally learned they were simple partial seizures, and when that came to light, my folks felt relief and great guilt because they, too, thought it was something I should just "get over" until we learned it was a real med issue.

If you continue to have this, push for a video EEG and/or extensive EEG monitoring to determine if this could be your real problem. Even if it only started recently, it can very well be partial sz activity. They can--and do--take all forms, and they can start at any age.

Good luck...

Soory to hear of your troubles, you will be in my thoughts, hope you find some answers soon. I cannot relate personally, only a Mom to the little patient.
