I have a wide array of neurological and otherwise symptoms that doctors have yet to provide a diagnosis for; the symptoms that are the most detrimental to my quality of life have been the cognitive issues like difficulty recalling words, remembering faces, concentrating, processing new information, etc., but the symptoms don't stop there. I'm hoping that it's something a little less complex like a seizure disorder or a brain abnormality that is more easily addressed, but I did recently have an acupuncturist/herbalist tell me that a lot of my symptomatology is consisent with chronic Lyme. I watched several "My Lyme Story"-type YouTube videos, and most people's stories do sound an awful lot like mine, though. I'm really scared because I'm only 23 (have had symptoms since I was 14), and it doesn't seem as though too many people ever recover or find much relief from their symptoms.
I can't get tested due to both financial and geographic reasons, so I may never know if I have it. I'm currently on an herbal protocol aimed at treating Lyme and Lyme-like syndromes; I haven't seen any benefits thus far. |

I know a few people who have had Lyme Disease. Not good and they did not get back to normal. Do you live in an area or have been to an area where the ticks that carry it are prevalent?
It seems to me that if you truly have Lyme Disease you need more than an herbal protocol. Here is a site: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/lym...ents-and-drugs

I don't know whether the ticks that carry it are particularly prevalent here. There are a lot of woods behind my house if that means anything. Unfortunately, I don't live near any LLMDs and cannot drive long distances (it makes me really dizzy) to visit one. Even if I could, I couldn't afford to see one to get tested anyway, though, since most of them don't take insurance, I believe.
The herbs I'm on are from the Classical Pearls Chinese herbal line by Heiner Fruehauf. I've seen quite a few people claim that his protocols have helped clear up their Lyme, but of course, anecdotal evidence isn't particularly useful. I'm just doing the Chinese medicine thing because it's all I can afford. |

I think tests can be done by using a legitimate online service, seems like a good dr would do this to find out for sure if you have it or not.
I've read here in the past that extended doses (months) of antibiotics are needed to wipe Lyme out, and it seems the longer it is before diagnosis the more damage is done. Please do a full forum search of Lyme for more information. search link is in my siggy.

There are no tests this far that can show that antibiotcs actually eradicate it completely in the long run. All lab animals when given extensive antibiotics still showed lyme in areas like joint, brain. This is because it has multiple ways it evades the immune system. With that said many people go on antibiotcs for a few years and then seem to be cured. My question is this: has anyone followed this cured individuals and compiled extensive data to see how often and how many years later they relapse? I've talked to many researches and people on the lyme front and they know many people who, once better, have to do "maintainence" every few years. So you can make a full recovery, but no, currently there is no way to completely eradicate it from your body. But isn't that the same for any virus? They stay with you forever and can pop out when you are under the weather or under stress. We are only scratching the tip of the iceberg with these spirochete bacteria. |

Also, please be cautious when taking those herbal protocols for Lyme. Most are unfounded in science and can harm. Take care
