Hi there kentucky_wildchild, and welcome to NeuroTalk.
That was very unfair of who-ever told you the worst was still to come, because nobody knows what's in our future when we first get diagnosed. I was diagnosed 32 years ago, and I'm still doing OK. I only gave up work 2 years ago but that was due to a combination of things like middle age, MS and major surgery for cancer. Please know that each and every MSer is affected differently, and we've often said it's like we all have a different disease. Some people have problems at the beginning that go away, never to return. Other people's problems go away for varied periods of time, only to resurface at intervals through out their lives. These people make up 1-2 thirds of all MSers. Then there are those people who's problems seem to continue to get worse no matter what they do, but please know that this group make up the other one third. Most people don't reach this stage, so please put them out of your mind for now. Welcome to NeuroTalk especially to our MS Forum. ![]()
