Hope all is OK RW. Please check in when you can. I saw this too late to post but yeah, sounds like UTI or some major crappy bladder spasms. Either way, it needs to be checked.

So, I called the doc at home at 7:00 a.m.

I told him that I was in agony and that if he was going to be my GP he had to step up to the plate NOW.

I got in first thing yesterday a.m.

I could barely get a testable amount in the cup. They did a dip and sent the rest out to the lab. He said the dip didn't come back particularly "dirty" but that we would start treatment immediately.

So, Bactrim and pyridine pills went down immediately. I got some cranberry caps while waiting for the script for the pills, and downed the first dose while still in the pharmacy. I talked to the instructor for the class and she gave me a pass with a makeup of watching a video and taking a test (unheard of in this company!) since I've taken the stupid class at least 20 times already.

I went home and slept for 11 hours, got up and went to work. Made it through last night with the orange pee every ten minutes, groaned in agony on the drive home at every bump, dosed again and hit the bed for 10 more hours sleep. It has lessened, but the pain is still there.

I also noted increased abdominal swelling. My trunk muscles are sore from trying to hold myself still when I cough, guarding when I urinate, and I'm starting to think it may be more than a UTI. I have to call and leave a message if I don't have relief this weekend and he will call me back.

I don't need this right before the holidays, especially when I am in for a long stretch of making some $$ that we very much need to get through the end of the year.

Dontcha just HATE when that happens?

Thanks for the "little" thing Wiz! I don't feel so little right about now.

While I was at the docs I got the H1N1 shot. He wanted to do the other flu shot too but I talked him into doing it next week, so I could deal with one yuck at a time. He started yapping about being 50 and needing a colonoscopy too...I was bugeyed and said "Let's save that one for later too!" Now my arm is sore and the shot site itches and I am feverish and not a happy puddle right now, since I still have to go to work tonight for 12 hours.

I plan on rest and relaxation as much as possible since it's Friday night. The sluggo I am working with doesn't do anything anyway, so I am planning on doing the same.

Thanks, Sal!

It's times like this that we miss our mothers the most, I think. She'd have had me in bed with copious amounts of tea and water and broth and juice and aspirin and love!

Only 7 more nights of work and then hopefully, vacation!! I'm hoping this is cleared up by then, isn't anything but a UTI, and that I am healthy by the time the vacation rolls around!

Drink lots of water my little friend. It will wash out the nasty bacterias or whatever else is clogging up your pipes. Keep bugging that doctor until you feel 100%.

(((RW))) I too have never had a bladder infection. I did however experience what you are experiencing. I never knew a bladder could hurt that much. I ended up going to the ER (it was the weekend) thinking I had a horrible infection but not the normal symptoms other than pain. In all the years I have been going to my PCP I have never called him after hours or the weekend until this time and he knew something was not right.

My UA was normal. The ER doc, who I know, wanted to do some ridiculous testing and I refused (I learned that Vicodin makes me irritable ) so I went home with the guarantee that I would follow up with my PCP, which I did. PCP found that my bladder was in a tight ball and irritable. Thank you MS for this little diddy.

I have so much more sympathy for people who have bladder infections and/or interstitial cystitis.

If you urine was normal, it may just be bladder spasms which I yet to find something to relieve them. Talk to your neuro about this the next time you go.

I hope you feel better soon.

When I've had UTI's, the antibiotics actually sometimes made me a little more uncomfortable for the first couple of days. (I think some of them make you go potty even more )

I hate what Pyridium does to the color...especially since it can stain. Yuck! At least it's a pain killer, somewhat.

Hope it goes away soon. I can empathize with all the yuck and uncomfortable-ness.
