Wish I had some advice. I was let go because I had, probably, no rights under the ADA. I was a para in the school system. Over-qualified for the job. But, no more rights than an untenured teacher. Could be let go for no reason. "Dr. HR"'s reason, although he didn't tell me, was simply that I requested FMLA time, for the 4th yr in a row.

Was obvious to me at the time, and the Special Ed dept. confirmed it when I filed for SSDI and they wrote health reasons as the reason I was no longer employed there.

I worry that all of this stress is making your ability to do your job even more difficult...
I had to discontinue a medical transcription course because of my problems with memory and ability to organize...my neuropsych eval showed a dramatic decrease in the ability to process, which involves these types of abilities.
I hope you get through your day, dear...thoughts and prayers are with you...

Reasonable for the purpose of accommodation is in the mind of the Company. To overcome this you may need a Lawyer. Many Companies will make some sort of accommodation in most cases. You may end up working in the file room.

My employer was really good about accommodations for me. They really went above and beyond. I hope everything works out for you. It can be so scary when our bodies decide to not cooperate with us.

I haven't talked with my boss yet this morning, and I am sick with worry. I don't want to bring it up if he doesn't. He's leaving for the weekend shortly, so maybe I get to sit and worry all weekend.

As for accommodating me, I see no way to continue to work with no memory function. Ending up in the mailroom would be a possibility, but we currently have no openings in regards to less stress. The firm I work for would literally have to invent some sort of job for me, and I can't see that being required.

*#&$*%&^ crap, I knew this would happen, I just never expected it so soon!

My hope is that I will be offered some sort of severance pay and maybe a letter of recommendation.

Hi Catch, any word?
So sorry to hear this. It really stinks. I, too, was forced out, nicely..cough..cough.. when I was having 3 to 4 relapses a year. I was on Avonex and then Copaxone, Neurontin, and Klonopin. Yikes!

Between the side effects of Avonex, other meds, and the multi-relapses overlapping each other, I was not able to multi-task with people, in person or on the phone.

Let alone the fatigue I was having. Spasms, shocks, numbness and cognitive issues at the time, and the stress of the job which I think exacerbated the MS, instead of the other way around.

I had to quit for less than perfect performance evaluation. They had no other opening that I was suited for, like you. I had raving review performances in the past years, but they didn't count them.

I hated that day too. I found out in order to have the ADA give you help, you must have come out and told your boss, not all others that you have MS. Otherwise they don't have to accommodate you
