Mylin sheath repair can also happen with fish oil blends. The krill oils are better than the standard oils, but BE CAREFUL if you are allergic to shellfish with what kind of oils you take.
Mylin is a fatty substance, and our body needs the fatty oils to help repair it. Omega 3 fat does a good job. The problem with MS isnt the sheath itself, its the fact that our immune systems keep munching on it. yummy fat juicy mylin. Yum! Do yourself a favor. Eat a healthy diet. exercise if you can. Take a mental break from all the stress and worry. If you are doing a nice balance in your life, then you are doing great! Extremes either way can lead to trouble. Too much food is bad for us, but so is too little. Too little vitamin D is a common problem for us, but if you take too much you get kidney stones. You may want to consider a trip to a nutritionist who can help you get all the stuff you need from good healthy foods, and combos of food. Well worth the price for that visit.

I went back and re read the "propriatary blend" and its full of stuff, junk, and weird combos of stuff you simply dont need. First tip off on anything you are preparing to take is when you see this label.
Warning: Do not use if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or breastfeeding. STORE IN A COOL, DRY PLACE. I personally wouldnt buy a product with such a label on it. You can get what you need from a good diet sweetie. ![]()

Kitty and Dejibo are correct... that boatload of herbs is basically useless. They are thrown together in that proprietary blend so you don't know what you are really getting...how much of each.
Herbs should be used very carefully, and researched. They can have surprisingly negative effects...and with a huge mix like this how would you know what is happening to you accurately? I don't ever recommend proprietary blended products. I think they are useless, but they sound impressive and are used basically as a marketing tool IMO. Here is a link that explains which supplements may help MS: http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm?fuse...how&pageid=772 The selenium is high on this site, and so is the manganese and zinc. So I can't advocate everything on this list either. But I do think that some supplements help MS patients. The Vit D we know, and B12 also. Fish oil and the new Krill oil, are both useful for anyone with neuro inflammation. Curcumin and grapeseed extract may be helpful too. I'd spend your financial resources in this direction instead.

Thanks for all the feedback! I would certainly not try anything without running it past the Naturopath first - I was just curious if anyone had heard anything about this supplement. Right now, I'm taking the fish oil and all the things that have come up as deficient on the testing the Nat did. It's time to re-test and I'm compiling a list of items to ask her about so I'm just curious what people are taking. I'm going to ask about tumeric and primose oil for sure. What I like about this Naturopath is that she specializes in MS and other neurological conditions and doesn't seem to just throw a bunch of supplements willy-nilly at me.

Anyone who knows how MS progresses would want to avoid anything that increases GAMMA INTERFERON.
jackD p.s. GRAPE SKIN extract RESVERATROL/TRANS-RESVERATROL + QUERCETIN IS JUST GREAT STUFF FOR MS FOLKS. Clin Diagn Lab Immunol 2002 Mar;9(2):470-6 Grape seed extract activates Th1 cells in vitro. Nair N, Mahajan S, Chawda R, Kandaswami C, Shanahan TC, Schwartz SA. Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology, Department of Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo and Kaleida Health, 14203, USA. Although flavonoids manifest a diverse range of biological activities, including antitumor and antiviral effects, the molecular mechanisms underlying these activities await elucidation. We hypothesize that the flavonoid constituents of a proprietary grape seed extract (GSE) that contains procyandins exert significant antiviral and antitumor effects, by inducing production of the Th1-derived cytokine gamma interferon (IFN-gamma) by peripheral blood mononuclear cells) from healthy donors. Our results show that GSE significantly induced the transcription of IFN-gamma mRNA as demonstrated by reverse transcription-PCR but had no effect on the Th2-derived cytokine interleukin-6. The enhancing effect of GSE on IFN-gamma expression was further supported by a concomitant increase in the number of cells with intracytoplasmic IFN-gamma as well as the synthesis and secretion of IFN-gamma. Our results demonstrate that the potentially beneficial immunostimulatory effects of GSE may be mediated through the induction of IFN-gamma. PMID: 11874895 [PubMed - indexed for MEDLINE

I am very sorry that you must ask this question because knowing NOT to increase the amount of GAMMA INTERFERON in your body is so very basic to avoiding MS attacks. This abstract clearly states that GSE GRAPE SEED EXTRACT raises GAMMA INTERFERON. If you have MS then GRAPE SEED EXTRACT is VERY VERY BAD and you should not take it. I am sure that if you research the Internet you will find a simple explanation of HOW MS progresses and why GAMMA INTERFERON is very BAD for MS folks. It is all related to the abnormal immune system MS folks have and inflammation. You need some GAMMA INTERFERON to have a healthy immune system. Normal (NON-MUTANTS ie NON-MS FOLKS) can use extra GAMMA INTERFERON to fight off infections. That is why some medications raise GAMMA INTERFERON but they can cause MS attacks and should be avoided by MS folks if possible. NON-MUTANTS ie NON-MS FOLKS can benefit from this extra GAMMA INTERFERON. jackD
