What cracks me up are the folks who think it's some kind of competition.

Oh no kidding, Kel...I am learning that I need to button my lip when someone asks me how I'm feeling...those who really want to know will look me in the eye when I say "fine" and say, "No, really...how are you doing?"
The others are just being polite, or are begging for you to ask how they are doing...my FIL is the best at this... ![]() ![]()

It was a printed paper, under my wipers, and said " Laziness is not a Disability". ![]() I daresay they didn't see me get out with my rollator, and if they did.... probably thought it was fancy dress day! My sister (the dreaded sister) said to me that I only say that I have MS to get attention. This is the same sister who kept saying she wished she could be on a disability pension like me .... and has faked it so she now has one too!

yes, but if you just gave yourself a good pep talk, and motivated yourself I bet you could get up and do more. Before you know it, you could be back at work! wouldnt that feel great?! (this came from my mother) ACK!

"You just need to get out more. Doing things will make you feel better."
Sort of like my DDH telling me while I had the flu that maybe if I did some laundry it'd make me feel better. ![]()

Don't you love those who say "you'll get better" or "hope they can fix it?" Like there is a surgery or pill or length of time you have to endure and then one day you will wake up and feel all better . . .

Oh, these stupid comments really P me off!
My favorite was when I was out of town on a business trip and we had to do quite a bit of walking. It was a hot day and you would've thought that my two supervisors (who know I have MS) were trying to speed walk to see who could make it the fastest. When I finally dared to say that I couldn't keep up, could they please slow down, I was told that I was just out of shape and needed to walk more. ![]() When I got over my shock and was done running through all the expletives I wanted to say in my head, I replied that no, I'm not out of shape, you know I have MS and am heat intolerant! |

Here is one for ya. After a complete mental meltdown today (because I am in severe pain and the heat is not helping and the pain meds make me phychotic) I was in a "my life has no purpose and I feel useless" mood. DH2B tells me I need something for me, something that I enjoy doing... then he tells me we can afford for me to go back to school. I realize he was trying to be helpful, but I am not working because I cannot make it through the day between the pain and the fatigue and the general craziness. I have giant holes in my brain that do not allow me to remember something to told me an hour ago. So even if I somehow make it through school and pass these classes, what the heck is the point if I know I will not be able to use this degree we just paid for??
Ugh, some days people just don't quite get it. I know he was trying to be helpful, and I appreciate his offer. But it just made me even more crazy because I know that I cannot concentrate long enough to take one or two classes.
