Default Amprya?

Hi All;
I was diagnosed with the dreaded MS 7 years ago and have never had a remission as of today. I am not on any medications at all. My right leg is weak which causes me to limp which causes muscle pain in back and side. All pain believed to be related to my gait. I do Yoga, swim and exercise regularly and maintain healthy lifestyle. My Dr. suggested a new drug called Ampyra which helps with leg muscle problems. I would like to know more about this drug and hear from anyone who has tried Ampyra. thanks, John:

Hi John. I take Baclofen for leg spasms. Although I do not take Ampyra, I have heard of it. I am sure someone here will give you information. Good to hear MS has not effected you very much.

Hi Aarcyn;
MS has slowed me down more than I like to admit, but than again I'm almost 65 so I'm entitled to a little slow down. John

I've been taking it since it came out. I took a one month holiday from it, and really, my DH and I don't really notice any difference. But my neuro told me to give it more time...so I am.
Do research on it...sounds like you're doing a good job of taking care of yourself...welcome!!

Hi John! I have no information for you, but wanted to welcome you to "the group"! These days I use wheels instead of legs, but then MS has been around a long time.....34 years. Stick around and join the fun!

Take care.....

Hi John,

I just wanted to give you a warm Welcome to NT. I am glad you are posting already. Exercise is the best for us. Standing or even sitting in a chair ones. Whatever people can do, they should try. JMO. Nice to meet you.

I haven't tried Ampyra, but was offered it by my Neuro for fatigue. I didn't try it. Some people have good luck with that drug, but it takes time.
