Hey we've made it to 5 pages now!!!!!!
I just finished reading the website for Pirate Master. It looks like these characters actually applied for and will be good contestnats for a show like a Survivor type show. Survivor only had only applicant, Papa Smurf. All the others were recruits. Some of these contestants are used to being 'on the high sea'. One of them, on the side, is a Chippendlae dancer. |

I guess this is where I say... Hey, we are all entitled to our opinions, whether anyone agrees w/them or not... I'm not anyone from AI's agent or manager.. I'm just stating my opinion.
If you sit and listen to half of the popular artists and rock bands, you will see that none of them have the caliber of voice that Melinda has, yet they have made it by having the on stage presence..... and the fan following. Heck, I can't understand half of what the heavy metal artists are saying, or the rappers, but they are raking in millions.... It's just different strokes for different folks.... Hey Becca? WHo you callin an old hen??? :D Eggs w/that bacon????? |

and here i thought i was going to be done with reality shows after ai. :p :D |
I wonder if so many of the 'great' artists of today would go before the three judges, how many of them would they send through to Hollywood?
I watched another reality show today. I have just got to stop this! Shear cuts. It's on Bravo. I don't know how many hairdressers it started out with, but when I finished the ones today that were reruns, there were only four left. |
Quote:
I caught that one too Doydie, by accident while flipping channels. Was that the one w/Jaclyn Smith???? Some of those hairdressers look kinda skeeeeery to me.... OK, I watched it.... I confess.... |
I refuse...do you hear me...refuse, to get involved with another reality show, except "Big Brother", if it ever comes back?
I remember something at the end of last year's season, though, that the Star (what's her name) will not be back. so I'm wondering if the show will. Has anyone heard anything? Oh well, if it doesn't, I'm also looking forward to the new season of "The Closer" in June. I love that show.:D Carry on, your reality show fruit loops.:trampoline: |

Not to worry, Big Brother starts in July. I saw a commercial saying that during the final Survivor. I will join you in your self limiting of reality shows. Found out CBS's Jericho was cancelled in favor of more reality programming. It is cheaper to produce, no writers etc. I was a faithful viewer and am SO MAD that I am considering boycotting CBS. But they have CSI and I love that show. I'm hoping that is not on the chopping block too. Beth |
BIG BROTHER is coming back???? I love that show.... I need help...
Wonder if Betty Ford Clinic is taking reality show junkies~!!!! |

Just remember girls. So you think you can dance will be starting soon. I'm not sure what the new Fox shows about the band competition and the new producer is going to be like.
|
Oh, another new reality show-America's got talent. But I think I mentioned this before. Oh well. I don't like Jerry Springer and I don't know if I'm going to like Sharon Osbborne (SP?) She is replacing Brandy who has the shows answer to Paula Abdul.

Melinda Doolittle - One More Time
I know she's gone from AI, but I can't resist giving her one encore before the final on Tuesday.
Listening to this performance, it's not hard to imagine Melinda becoming one of America's most influential vocalists as time passes. I think she's unbelievable (I can't recall if we're allowed to post links on this board, but here goes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNAxn...elated&search= Enjoy. :) -- |
Thanks Rex....Beautiful!!!!!
After hearing that, I don't care who the final Amer. Idol is. As a matter of fact, I hope it's Blake. That's the only thing that would make any sense.:D |
As you know, I have always been a Melinda/Jordin fan. I think Jordin brought the house down tonight. I thought that last song was written for her. This is her 'now'. I think that was why she was so emotional at the end. Here she is, a 17 year old that has been able to go through this wonderful experience and to go this far. I think that's why she liked the sing the song "I, who have nothing". She realizes that she is a young kid who had been given the chance of a liftime.
My 82 year old conservative Mom is so funny. She watches this show religously. I'm going to have to warn her about some the music tomorrow night. I have visions about Prince and his little doll babies 'performing' last year. I'm just glad her pacemaker works well. I watched part of the finale of 'Dancing with the stars' tonight. I guess I watched just cause some of you guys watch it. See what kind of cultural enrichment you have given me! Of course not knowing the story of how all the others have done, I couldn't really get into the ball game tonight! I was glad to see Apollo win. I have always enjoyued watching him in the olympics. I also enjoyed seeing Mohamid Ali's daughter. She is a beauty. I didn't like Billy Rae Cyrus. He has really changed. And who was the 'old' guy? I also watched part of the premier of 'The lot". It's hard to watch two shows at time. I may give it another chance. So far the process has kind of been like American Idol. You perform in front of the judges, get past them, choose a group to do the next task and hope your group can get their act together and do a good performance. That's it for me until tomorrw night. Oh, last time I checked, the prediction site had Jordin ahead. |
jordin all the way. she was awesome. her tearing up remided me of kelly clarkson. we had just watched the ai rewind on saturday. it was fun watching her win again. i won a bet with grandmonkey. he wanted justin to win. and noooo....i did not take the nickel from him. :D
the lot filmed their "shorts" here in the the dfw area. they had a bunchof the people on the news. not too sure if i'm going to get into it. but.....h3ll's kitchen is coming back on this summer. :D i LOVE to cook. fancy stuff like they do. i can't wait. i'll get lots of ideas. ohhh...i'm glad appolo won too. on his 25th birthday to boot. :) |
Thanks Curiousu answered a ? I was gonna ask lol about Appolo...lol....
as far as AI....it has to be jordon......I called tonight and voted lol....the first time I have ever done that.....oh I did it one other time on DWTS...for Kelly Monaco....I adored her lol....plus I watch her on General Hospital (when I dont sleep throught it .....soaptime = naptime lol) |
Any one watching the red carpet show for AI tonight??

They started that last year Chris......Goofy....just tell us already lol..........
|
It was worth it to see Tony Bennet and Gladis Knight, and Bette Midler.:)
My DD, one Mother's day, long ago, did a Calligraphy for me, with the words to, "You are the wind beneath my Wings"...Made my day, I'll tell you. She was born on Mothers Day 1970. |
Who won???? I missed the end.
Never mind I saw it. how thrilling for jordin......WooooooHoooooooo |
I enjoyed most of the show. I could have done without the awards. It just brought out all the bad thiongs about AI. I really enjoyed Smokey Robinson when he sang with guys and Gladys Knight when she sagn with the girls. Gwen Stefani, Green day I could have done without. And I definitely could have done without Bette Midler. She used to be one of the great ones, really had her own style. Not having her on tonight might have helped them end on time. I'm sure there were a lot of people that set their VCRs to record and didn't see the end.
Congratulations Jordin!!!! |
I think Fox's show 'So you think you can dance' starts tomorrow night. Of course the first couple of nights will be the auditions where you see some of the good but mostly the ugly cause it sell TV.
|
I guess Fox is on a lot of peoples D list with AI running over about 10 minutes last night so people who recorded it didn't see the end. Luckily there wasn't anything importnat for me to watch at 9 so I just kept it on Fox to finish it. Spike network also has things start late and end late.
'So you think you can dance' started tonight. It had the usual Fox type auditions. Some of them were amazing and then of course they had to showcase the really bad ones. But once they get the final 20 contestants, I think, it's a really good show. I heard on HGTV that they are going to start their second season of 'Next design star' in July. I'm still holding judgement on 'On the lot'. Of course I said that after the first show. They had the second cuts tonight. They really give them some hard tasks to do. Yesterday it was to make a 2 1/2 minute movie in 24 hours with 2other people that you have never met before. Tonight they produce one scene in one hour. |
:D....yeah -- i agree, people are basically getting sick of the same old rock/hip-hop/r&b bullsh*t..... and there is just this big upsurge from a new style coming out of Europe -- best place i've found it so far is a compilation series called 'euro club hits' on itunes :D:cool:

OK...My computer crashed and I lost the addresses to places like this till someone replied to a post I had subscribed to. I'm still here.
