Yau man made it by the hair of his immunity idol's chin.:D

So, now what happens. On Sunday, do the others come back and vote for the winner?

Come on Big Brother.;)

doydie 05-10-2007 11:20 PM

Sally I'm not sure how they will decrease it down to the final three. I assume there will be no reward challenge but have two immunuty challenges. Then the jury, the last 9 people to have been voted off, will vote for the winner. They get to ask all the questions they need to determine who gets their vote. Sunday it will be a three hour program. The last few minutes of the second hour the jury will vote. The next hour is the reunion show where all the contestants gather but first Jeff Probst reads the votes then they just sit and talk about the season.

Is the lady with the prosthetic leg still in the competition on ' Dance'? I was so suprised to see Billy Rae Cyrus. I remember what he looked like on his TV show about a doctor and I assumed he still looked something like that. He has tried to glam himself up to much. He looks nothing like a country singer now.

I'm just waiting now for them to declare Jordin the winner and we can be all done with this. I think for the finale they are going to have that guy Sherman sing. He's the old guy that his dying wifes last wish was for him to audtion for AI. And he was good! He would be one good argument for a 'senoir idol'.

Yau is my man! Now if he can just make it to the final three. Everyone but Earl knows he is a huge threat in front of the jury so he is open game now. He sure knew how to read his tribemates at tribal council so he could use his immunity idol. I'm sure there will be some well chosen words when they get back to camp as to why Dreams voted for him. If Stacy hadn't have been so vocal in tribal council, we would have had to say goodby to our little Yau Man

He had a bad vibe and went with it. Good for him. Just gotta get that sneaky Boo out next.

Yes we lose a couple the first hour Sunday. Then the remaining are questioned by the jury and then they vote. The final hour is the reunion where we get to see who won and how well everyone cleans up. Plus they dish the dirt on the season.

I am looking forward for the guilty pleasure of Big Brother, too.

JessieSue 05-11-2007 08:06 PM

I love Big Brother and RockStarINXS/SuperNova/? whoever's next, I hope there's a next!

wannabe 05-12-2007 11:34 AM

So happy too to see Yau man get a sense that he might be vulnerable and to use his idol. This next show should be fun to see how it all plays out. Yau Man knows that Earl voted with him to vote Stacy off but that the rest voted to send him home. If it's only Earl and Yau Man on one side now, then they might be outvoted. This next vote is the last to use the idol though so maybe earl and yau man, if they get whispers about what's going on, can save themselves. hope yau man or earl gets immunity and that would save both yau and earl from elimination if necessary if the other has the idol.

Yes, Heather Mills, the former wife of Paul McCarthy was voted off Dancing with the Stars.

Moonwolf 05-12-2007 11:45 AM

If Yau man or Earl wins immunity, they'll both be safe. Then Boo will probably get voted off, but if I were there, I'd want to get rid of Dreamz. He's so flaky that no one can count on anything he says. He just seems to go by his latest brain explosion.

doydie 05-12-2007 10:43 PM

On person on the Survivor message board suggests that Earl 'let' Dreamz see him putting the hidden immunity idol in Yaus pocket so that DreamZ can go back to the others and tell them that Yau has the idol. That way they will vote for Earl. But what Dreamz doesn't see is that Earl immediately takes back the idol and whips it out at tribal council.

Yau Man was screwed, but I think the best man (Earl) won.:)

I concur. Earl won with a shut-out 9-0, that says alot about his gameplay.

doydie 05-14-2007 12:13 AM

Wow, I was sorry it had to end with such a bad taste in your mouth. Yau was screwed but he and Yau were such good friends I sure Yau was proud to have him win. I'm not sure if I'll watch the Pirate thing. I'll probably watch the first episode just to see what it's like. But by then I'm usually hooked. LOL

Ain't that the truth Sal!

I rolled my eyes when I saw the previews for the pirate show. Not another reality show!

DM 05-14-2007 03:58 PM

I was sad that Dreamz played Yau and took the truck... Makes me sad to think that someone who gave his word as a man would not honor it......... Guess nothing is sacred anymore.

I won't be watching the Pirate Show....ARGGGGHHHH!

But, Dancing w/the Stars is on tonight.....:D

wannabe 05-14-2007 10:30 PM

Me too. I really hated to see Yau double crossed like that. My friend said that at least Dreamz wasn't a bad, evil person, which I guess is true. Not like that Johnny guy from way back who lied and said his grandmother died to get the sympathy vote.

And maybe living on the street gave Dreamz a real 'survivor' mentality that you gotta grab what you can no matter what. But still... I thought he should have kept to his word and given him immunity. To hear that he said that he always just considered it a game that he could break whatever rules he needed to in order to win... I don't know, I always felt that I respected the winners more when they maintained some boundary that they wouldn't cross in the name of money. Especially seeing how well Yau played the game and that he never compromised his principles 'in the name of the game'. I was very disappointed to see Earl vote Yau off too. I still remember the season with Tina and whatever that Texan guy's name was... he took her to the end even though it cost him the million. There's just something to be said for keeping your honor even if you risk losing the game over it, that alliances aren't something to throw away just because they may be a threat to you or no longer needed.

With a game that was quite a thrill to watch being played in such a strategic way, I was sorry to see it end that way.

doydie 05-14-2007 11:14 PM

Tomorrow night is American Idol!!!!!!!!

I can't believe that I, the greatest Survivor fan, looked at my watch wrong and thought it was an hour earleir. So at 7:40 I suddenly realized that Survivor had been on for 40 minutes!!!!!!!!! I waited with baited breath until I saw that yau was still on. But I missed the first challenge.

Ceci 05-15-2007 07:04 PM

Two words ... Go Jordin!!!

Curious 05-15-2007 10:13 PM

:Sob: i missed ai!

my daughter had a performance and we didn't get home until after 9pm. i forgot to record it. i already set my computer to record it tomorrow night. she has an audition at 7pm.

so our girl jordin rocked?

SallyC 05-15-2007 11:29 PM

It's a hard call. They were all winners tonight. In all fairness, Medinda is the best talent and should win. Jordin is an excellent talent and should come in second and go far.

Blake will probably win, because he is what American Idol is all about and was the only one who actually improved during his time there...and the most original talent. I like him...I think he worked the hardest. He knew what he was up against and tonight, he came through with flying colors.

doydie 05-16-2007 12:34 AM

I am really torn as to whether Jordin or Melinda did the best. Both of them will get a contract no matter which wins AI. They will both go far in their careers. I am just sorry that a 17 year old will be giving up those teen years just having fun and instead will be thrust into immediate stardom.

I must admit that I haven't done any voting at all this year. But being a 57 year old woman, if I had never watched the show before so I didn't really have a favorite, I wouldn't give it to someone that made funny sounds with his mouth while someone was rapping. I think Blakes hometown showing may have hurt him with some straggling voters.

On the prediction web site that goes by phone voting only, it has been very close. Right now Melinda is on top. I don't think it will be as close as last years, but it will be close.

Ceci 05-16-2007 07:16 AM

I was thinking about this on the way into work this morning. I really want Jordin to win. Here's my reasons: She's an unpolished and excellent singer, with a sassy personality. None of this "you really like me" stuff.

I could listen to Melinda for hours, but she came into the competition polished and ready. When I think of American Idol, she doesn't come to mind.

Man ... I way to deep into this stuff! I gotta get a life! *grin*

DM 05-16-2007 08:19 AM

My name is daisymay and I am a reality TV junkie!!! I have watched every season of Survivor... I watch AI and Dancing w/the Stars...

Ok, I watch a few others, but that's another story..ha

I think The final 3 on AI are all good.... I have to admit, they are all different and will have a career. On DWTS's I am an Apolo and Julianne fan.... Always been a big Apolo Anton Ohno fan b/c of the Olympics....
He's a winner, regardless...

Ceci??? And, I thought you were thinking about "us" on your way to work!!! :D

Bubbles of a feather, DaisyMay. I got hooked into AI AND Survivor this year.
I caught myself watching the Bachelor the other night. Dear lord. I need help. ;)

And hello to you too, Bubble Sis.... My DD got me hooked on The Bachelor... He is just too good to be true. I think he ends up w/Tessa....

Yikes, just disclosed another reality show I'm hooked on..

Okay. You went there. I can be brave, too. I hope Tessa and Andy end up together.

I can't wait for 'So you think you can dance' to start. Last year I watched 'America's got talent' but with Jerry Springer as the host instead of Regis Philbin, it won't be the same.

SallyC 05-16-2007 09:08 PM

I have to say....I'm shocked that Melinda was knoked out. I thought it would be Blake and Melinda. I think Jordin was shoked too.

Out on a limb here and predicting Blake as the Winner.:o

"Way out" is right.

Yes, Jordin was shocked - because Blake displaced Melinda. I don't know how America can miss the fact that Blake can't sing a lick. Then again, neither could Taylor Hicks. All I can say is, Melinda is so much the best singer - best ever on Idol, IMO. Simon looked like he was sick.

I agree with the part about Melinda going and Blake staying...I was shocked. thought it would be the 2 girls. I just sat here w/ mouth open.....but I did notice they didnt really talk much to Blake afterwards but it did show his face....I think he was SHOCKED that it wasn't him ......

SallyC 05-16-2007 10:15 PM

In all honesty, Ceci, I hope Jordin wins now. She is without a doubt the better singer than Blake.

I had just hoped that the best would win...Melinda.

I agree Kingrex, Melinda was the best, in my eyes too.

doydie 05-16-2007 11:26 PM

I'm sure my heart did flip flops when Ryan said Melinda was going(:. What has America done. I hope Jordin wins. But Melinda is still a winner whether she has the title of AI or not. But I'm sure she cried herself to sleep tonight.

FlyFishin Momma 05-17-2007 03:50 AM

Its like Paula said....time for Melinda to go get started on her career.....and man is she ever gonna have one.......
I think several of the top 10 we will hear more from.....Look at Elliot.....he was GREAT last night......

We have not heard the last of Melinda Dolittle!!!!!!!!!

Becca44 05-17-2007 08:30 AM

I've mentioned before that I like Blake - I wasn't surprised to see him and Jordin in the final two. Not to toot me own horn but... ;)

I'll be thrilled to see either of them win at this point but am favoring Jordin as the best bet. She seems to embody the youth, energy and vibe (and genre) of AI. Blake's got the 'Sting' thing going on... he's a fine entertainer. Wonder if he's considering film??

Melinda's talent surpasses American Idol, she'd outgrown the show by round two ...and I agree with those who've said it's time for her to move into her future career already. Watching her stand there subjected to criticism by the judges made no sense, week after week.

DM 05-17-2007 09:33 AM

I'm glad you said that Becca, now they can throw tomatoes at you....instead of me... I think Blakes' rendition of The Police's song Roxanne was very good. I like them all, but I heard on TV this morn that since Melinda got knocked out that her votes will now probably go to Jordan....

Like I said B4, I like them all, but Melinda just didn't have the stage presence to attract the younger crowd... She's a fantastic singer and will no doubt, succeed wonderfully in her career...

I like Blake and I like Jordan, but I also heard that her overconfidence is hurting her.... (now, stop throwing rotten fruit at me)

I just said I heard that..... *hiding w/Becca*

We'll just pick up that fruit and make pies, doll. It's all good. ;)
This morning over coffee, one of my workmates did get angry with me when I told her I thought Blake deserved to be in the competition. Ooo-wee, she looked at me like I'd just called her a big stoopid-head or something.

SallyC 05-17-2007 02:05 PM

I'm not going to name names, but there are many Stars out there making money hand over fist, whose only talent is too make us think they have talent.....I's called Style.

Melinda has the voice but little style. Blake has the style..no voice. It's hard to say, in this day and age, who will go farther and who will last.

I can't imagine what your criteria for "style" are if you think Blake has it and Melinda has little. Maybe it's a geographic thing. Are you telling us that Melinda's rendition of "I'm A Woman" last night lacked style?

I'm totally comfortable in predicting that Blake will have no real career, apart from the requisite CD fueled by AI exposure and talk show appearances. IMO, he's another Taylor Hicks, only with 13 year old girls as his fans. His style consists of one or two cheesy spin moves and, of course, his beat-boxing. It takes a lot more than that to make a career in music and entertainment.

Personally, I think Blake looks scared to death. He's not got nearly enough "game" to be on Center Stage, and he knows it. I really think he was hoping to go home last night. The other two are bursting with talent and promise. Some people obviously think Blake is "unique"; in truth, the only reason you don't see anyone else like Blake is that "entertainers" like Blake never reach the point where you would see them perform because they just don't have enough talent to move to the next level. American Idol is the one-in-a million shot to make the huge leap from local curiosity to household name. Because of the voting system, Blake is still there and a fabulous entertainer is not. I mean, did Sanjaya not make it to the Final Six?

The proof will be in the pudding, I guess. I'm really not as emotionally invested in all this as it may seem :) but it does upset me to read comments like "Jordin is over-confident" (huh????) or "Melinda lacks style" or is "too old". In truth, the title means little. The music industry knows who's promotable and who isn't. So, we'll see who gets promoted post-AI with record company dollars. FWIW, neither Taylor Hicks or Katherine McPhee have been promoted much; Bucky Covington and Chris Daughtry have been doing well commercially, Daughtry in particular (I like Chris Daughtry). Chris' album has been on the charts a long time and is still very near the top. The question is, after the initial success wrought by their exposure on AI, where do they go from here? The way it probably goes is: make another album, give it an initial push and then see if the success of the first album translates into a strong follow-through effort. If not, that's about it. Record companies don't like losses.

I think Melinda will be a huge success. Jordin, too.

(my first time to say: "Vent Over") :) :)

What she said! :)

Becca44 05-17-2007 09:54 PM

Well, unlike you Rex, I'm not upset ;), but by making the comment: "He's not got nearly enough 'game' to be on Center Stage, and he knows it" about Blake, you're saying something that's no more (or less) true than any other opinions shared thus far. And your comment makes ME go "huh??". It's all subjective.

Melinda's got a great voice, no doubt about it. And sure, she's got style - in her voice particularly. Blake's got style. He's also got charisma. As far as my tastes go, whether or not they're based on geography I don't know but I'm minnesota girl with a few friends in the music biz and I daresay they're pretty successful. What Blake does with his style, we'll see. I wish them all well ...though am sure they don't need my well-wishin'.
:)
