DH and I found a spicy Chinese recipe that called for habanero peppers about 15 years ago. We couldn't find any fresh ones in the store at the time, so we used dried. It was a stir fry thing in a very hot wok. It was January with snow on the ground and probably about 15 degress outside.

The instant those peppers hit the hot oil, everything was on fire. Our eyes, noses, lungs, skin, etc. We opened every window and proceeded to hang out a couple of them trying to breathe capsaicin free air. I think we both ended up having to take showers, too.

I sympathize, but I giggled too just remembering my own experience.

Reminds me of the peppers a friend is growing, Ghost Peppers. He can't wait, they are the hottest. Just wash your hands many times before you go.

I've heard that hot peppers are also good for your sinuses.
