Default My sniffer must be busted. am I alone?

recently I have become quite sensitive to odor. Am I alone? it was bad during the time I was on copaxone, but now that I have stopped I have become ultra sensitive.

Things that bug me from quite far away are women who literally showered in perfume. WHY?! Why must they do that?! I snapped at my mom the last time I was there. She stood in her room spritzing and spritzing. I told her the whole house stunk! and opened the windows. She told me she couldnt smell it anymore and that was part of the pleasure of perfume was to have something nice to smell all day. EEK!

Smokers. ICK! its rainy/wet and now going to be snowy and cold here, and that means folks are keeping their car windows UP while they smoke, and that means they are trapped in their cars with it. When they walk past you in a store, you simply want to vomit.

I swear! I keep smelling some mechanical smell. Like a hot machine. Even when nothing could be causing it, I still smell it! its freaking me out.

BO. Dear God, please let some of these folks know that the BO is enough to rip the nose hair right out of your nose.

And last but not least the famous dirty diaper on the child that has been dragged from place to place for hours, and mom either doesnt have a fresh one on her, or has gotten used to that smell. ICK!

Is my sniffer overly sensitive? is this an MS thing? I have spoken to non MS folks who say they smell it, but its not nearly as offensive to them, as it is to me. Do I need to stuff cotton in my nose before I leave my home? or wear swimmers nose plugs?

I sometimes smell something "hot" or "burning". It's so annoying because I feel like I have to check everything in the house to make sure I didn't leave an appliance on....or that the house isn't on fire! DS cannot smell it.

Perfume and mens cologne bother me more now than they used to. My Mom used to be ultra sensitive to perfumey smells. I wonder if it's just me getting older or maybe I inherited her sensitive sniffer.

You're not alone. I do notice scents more now....and there is always that "phantom" smell that nobody else can smell but me.

It works for me, but I've done all my wedded bliss, raising kids, grocery shopping and other assorted stuff. I am now retired, sitting back and enjoying being a lazy butt Mom & Grandmom.

The only time I go out is to the DOC, Dentist, Optho...etc... Usually once a year per each. Everyone else comes to me..

Which reminds me, my remodling hunks were here Friday for a few sundry repairs. I love thos guys.

What'd you break, Sally? And don't try to pretend it was unintentional. We know you too well.........
