Okay, anyone here suffer from nausea that is worse when you get up and walk around?
I have been dealing with this for almost three weeks now and it is driving me nuts! I talked to my neuro, he's convinced it can't be directly related to MS but wanted me to see a primary physician. I went in and she gave me a prescription for Zofran but said that if it wasn't gone by the time the prescription is she wanted me to call the neuro back and ask if it could be related to slower moving digestion due to the MS. I am going to write a letter to my old neuro to see if she will take my case back. She felt my case is too complicated for her due to my other disease that complicates the treatment of MS. So she wanted me to go somewhere that all my specialists could discuss my case when needed. Well they don't and I'm sick of them! Sorry, little rant there. Anyway I was just wanting to know if any of you suffer from nausea due to MS. Thanks, Kristie |

I have chronic mild nausea (I call it feeling weasly), but I also have other issues and have no idea if it's MS related or not. It's tiresome.

Are you taking medications/vitamins on an empty stomach? That sometimes will do it...
Have you switched any medications recently? Could it be a medication side effect? |

I have chronic nausea, but some is from meds, and other is from a tummy condition I deal with. My gastric system empties so slowly that I can only eat tiny meals at one sitting. if not I get a complete backwash of most of my meal for hours. I have woke myself up in the middle of the night some 10 hours after my last meal regurgitating it, and finding a mouth full. GROSS!
Peppermint tea is helpful, as well as nibbling on some dry saltines to absorb the excess acid in your tummy. Ginger is wonderful! They sell it in tablets now, or you can sip ginger ale that has real ginger in it.

I wonder if it's from a balance issue...sometimes it can cause nausea...maybe doing some internet research would give you more info.
Hope you get some answers soon...take care of yourself.. ![]()

Years ago, I was given a Gastric Emptying Study Test and was told I digest my food slowly. This was a new symptom, I'm only dx with MS and I was 33 when this started. I was prescribed Reglan to help with this problem.
Too, I have vertigo sometimes. This has upset my stomach from time to time. I was prescribed Antivert or Meclizine to help with this symptom. Take care. |

I can not stand ginger! I know it is supposed to be so helpful for nausea and I tried so hard to stomach it when I was pregnant (both times) but I just can't. I have tried peppermint tea, and dry saltines. I take my meds with food. I have not started any new ones or changed doses. As far as I can see for something new, that might have triggered it, I can't think of anything. Just all the new MS symptoms that, since last April, just seem to keep coming. ![]() Thank you all for the advice! |
