I think they need to be drawn on the same day as well. When I had my spinal tap, I wanted my bloodwork done by my gp because the lab work at the hosp. cost too much but my neuro said I needed it done that day and the spinal fluid and blood work needed to go to the same lab. You should check into it.

Not knowing and guessing the dx is the worst. Best of luck.

Default Still Possible MS?

I just had an MRI of the brain without contrast and the report indicates: several, tiny, nonspecific foci of T2 abnormality within the subcortical white matter bilaterally. Has anyone gotten the same report? I am curious because I don't see my neurologist for another week & a half.
Thanks
Kim

Hi Kay, welcome home to Neurotalk. Sounds MSy to me. My bill is in the mail. Please let us know what your official news is, though.

Deb - I'm glad you finally have answers and the testing is over. No more lp's is always a good thing. I agree that pt is totally worth it. That was something that really helped me. Sorry you have a sucky disease, but glad you have answer that make sense.

I have not myself, but they did my blood work + LP the same day by consequence (I had put off the blood work - in denial - no I was scared actually). They found the O-bands clear as mud in my spinal fluid.

I have heard the bands may not be present out of a flare/inflammatory period, though I don't know if there's truth to that. The way my neurologist explained them, he made O-bands sound like age rings in a tree section.
