Hi I'm Luke, and I'm 24, and I am newly diagnosed with MS. I already did a post about my story, and would like some replies to it if you can. I'm scared to be honest, never had these problems before, so hoping that you all can help me.

hi luke,
i'm glad you found us. it's ok to be scared. i remember being afraid when i was dx'd also.

one thing that helped me was to come up with some sort of plan.
like i could share with a friend or family member. just talking about it can help.
also, if it's a specific fear you could come up with a plan.

for instance, if i get too tired in the grocery store i could use their cart, park closer to the store, get a handicapped sticker for my car. i think that developing a plan and taking 1 thing at a time gives you more control over the fear. and control = power.

we're here for you.

Default Spouse of a newly diagnosed MS....

so ..it started a couple of weeks ago...she had suspected for 6 to 9 months.. but only finally told me her suspicions about three weeks ago now.

lumbar puncture yesterday....but now we're just looking for progression not so much conformation..
"progressive" the 2nd level of bad.

when she asked about how they diagnose MS I told my 13 year old it's like how they started finding planets a few years ago.. they don't see the planet but they now it's there by the effect it has on the star nearby, now there seeing how much wobble the star has so they now how big planet is. Which earned me a well duh! look.. damn kid is smarter than I am.

yeah that was a bit random.. I think I am in numb zone right now...I am passing though a lot of emotions very quickly......but it is not my first rodeo 18 year recovering alkie ... so I am familiar with my own head.
Hoping this might be a good place to vent/ support...

sooooooo...hello

Hello Miaoux.. Your 13 yr old was right on the money with
the word Random. It fits MS to a tee. I have a couple of early
teener Grands and they lurve the word Random. They even
have the T-shirts..lol.

So sorry for your DX of MS, but you have come to the right
place. Good for you and good luck with your recovery. I hope
you like it here and join in. There are a whole family of caring,
giving and supportive peeps here.

Welcome..

Smile Hi, I'm new here

Hi. I'm Laura. I have been dxd with RRMS since 1999. I started Tysabri as a DMD in November of last year and that has been working great for me. Before that I was on Rebif for the first two years (BAD experience), and then took LDN on and off for the next year and made many lifestyle changes, especially with diet and exercise. Those things and having a wonderfully supportive hubby and family have helped me to be doing okay most days (ok, some days, LOL). It looks like there is a wealth of knowledge here, am looking forward to learning more from all of you.
