It's been a week straight with pain in some sort of body part this week, grrrrrrrr.
Just need a little rant, tonight! Don't mind me, I'm sure it's been chatted up before. ![]() Today is the swollen wrist with red patch and pain all day, about an hour ago the left shoulder decided to come out and play, again, as usual! Feel's like a crew driver shoved in there, ache, ache, ache, STAB! ache, ache, STAB! ![]() I hope I am not crossing the line with this next detail, but to me it's medical and was very scary. This morning I woke up and was feeling pretty good pain wise, sun was shining and my mood/attitude was just great! Well, the fiance and I got a little frisky, and upon me reaching "the end", my heart started to race (more then normal), I got stabbing pain in both tempals, my vision went blurry (saw star's/glitter) and dang near blacked out! I had to grab the wall to hold my self up, fiance said, WTF! You lost all your color in the face, and I hit the floor. Took about 1/2hr to regain myself and my fiance was very scared. AGAIN, NOT trying to be to personal here, just need to know if anyone with MS has had this happen? I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN TO ME, scared the crap outta me! And if you have any secrete's on pain managment, please, do tell! I hate pill's/meds of any kind. On Lyrica at the momment (last 3 days) has done nothing at all, except my tongue feels a little swollen, one of the side effect's. If it doesn't chill out tomorrow I'll stop taking it. Thanks for letting me vent, feel like I can't do that yet. ![]() |

You haven't been taking Viagra for your MS, have you? Sorry, bad joke, but we just had a thread here, where Viagra was suggested to help MS symptoms.
![]() On a serious note though, it does sound like you had a series of side effects from something. ![]() Take care and Welcome. ![]() ![]()

You don't drink a lot of diet soda, do you? Or anything with Aspartame in it? It can cause all sorts of problems.

Vent away! and welcome to NeuroTalk
![]() I've had the near black out faint spells before, but mine I know to have been caused by hormonal changes. Perhaps this too can affect men? It could definitely be an MS 'thing', but it could be something else entirely as well. I'd definitely bring this to your neurologist/GP's attention. I wouldn't want to mess around with a racing heart during physical activity resulting in fainting spells. I'd again, definitely have that looked into.

Lyrica did not give me the problem you have, but it kept me from breathing well--to be more specific, it increased the "hug" which we sometimes get around the middle. I do not
like that drug, although some people get so much relief from it....but sounds like you are NOT getting it, with that "screw driver" working you over in several places. You might say, well I've only been on it three days. But I say, I was only on one pill, and it completely stopped the pain left over from Shingles, which was very severe--but it also made me feel like I could not breathe easily--I've heard it called "air hunger". Now most people seem to get on with Lyrica, but maybe you are not one of them. If you were feeling great and thus went into intense "activity", that could be telling you something. I felt great on Lyrica--until I could not breathe well. I use demerol only for pain. That is because I also have Porphyria, and demerol is one of the few drugs we can take orally for pain. I must not be addicted to it because I just stop if pain stops. I am taking more than I was, (daily now) because of toe neuropathy. I can take Cortisone shots, although not Prednisone pills, and perhaps your worst spots might respond to that. |

![]() ![]() I started to document everything for my doc. including pictures of these swollen joints and red irritated marks. Tell ya what, last night at 2:30am, I woke straight up screaming in pain! Jesus, this stuff (whatever it may be) is for the birds! Wrist, both shoulders, knee, thumb, index finger joint, everything was really pist off. Lyrica hasn't touched a spec of anything. Finally got back to bed, woke up at 8:30 to a numb/tingling thumb, pain levels dropped to 1-3. Felt pretty good most of today, enjoying the sunshine outside (Hey, for us Alaskan's, the sun is a BIG THING! LOL) just relaxing. It's now 3:47pm and in the last 15 minutes the left shoulder is starting in strong, 6. I have never in my life expirianced anything like this, truly crazy! ![]() Thanks to all for the welcoming warm wishes, it's nice to chat with people whom understand you/what your feeling. ![]() |

I'm sorry you're in such pain. I'd definitely tell my doctor about it.
Have you been tested for Lyme Disease? Or Lupus? They can mimic MS in many ways. http://www.webmd.com/rheumatoid-arth...s-lyme-disease http://lupus.webmd.com/guide/lupus-s...tosus-symptoms It's good that you're documenting your symptoms and keeping a log of them. It's hard to remember everything when you're talking to the doctor and a documented file will help the doc with his process of elimination.

The last two night's have been just unbearable, this (whatever it is) is just insane. Last night's sleep (if you can call it that) was full of crazy dreams and little rest. Today is better, thank god. Left shoulder is sitting at a 2-3, right shoulder at 1-2 and the rest is all quiet for the time being. I feel like I should run to the gym for a work out! lol |

I think you should have gone to the ER. Maybe it is the Lyrica just not agreeing with you. Have you ever had a carotid doppler? or a stress test? I'm no doctor but do work in an ER and have seen alot...just saying. Hope you get it figured out.
