OMG Sally! I WISH he would find a J O B and get out of my house! he is always here! always under foot, and always in need of a project. I guess I am his most recent project. Lets see what the AM brings. I may just kill him, or I may find the strength to actually get up. He said we are planning a hike up Mount Monadnock and he wants me in shape for it. I hear its a rough climb! I will have to send pics if I make it that far.

I slept till 7 and thought wahoo! he went out with his buddies and left me behind. I got up, washed, dressed, and was ready to eat and he came in the kitchen...ya ready?! so...another 3 miles behind me.

I must admit I was faster today, I was more comfortable, less winded, and my legs were not as shakey or burning as the last two days, so its coming easier to me. I forgot how it felt to get all sweaty.

So...it looks like this is going to be a lifestyle for a while. I am agreeing to it, and not being forced. I do need to get off my fat bottom and try, and I dont believe he would push me past my tolerance.

Wish me luck! im gonna need it.

Play it by ear but I think it sounds wonderful! Since I added an exercise class in addition to dog walking which doesn't really count since it is my baseline I really do feel more energetic, my weight loss increased and it does get easier. If you can I say go for it. If not thats ok too.

Thank God for rain! DH wanted to go out rain or not and I said "WHAOOO! there bucko, I am NOT going out in the rain." And then we had a talk about boundaries, and while I am willing to try this, I am not willing to be pushed past common sense. A long walk on a nice day is one thing, but dragging me 3 miles in the rain is quite another. He got quiet for a minute and then said he was sorry for pushing. I had to rexplain to him that like it or not i have MS and its not going away. I may have good days and bad days but even on good days I will still have MS. He was kinda quiet as he got ready for his day out with the guys. He didnt say much after that.

I plan on a day of ME things. no PT. No exercise. No BS from anyone else who wants something from me. Bah. Im gonna ride my zero gravity chair and play video games. HA!

I wonder do you have anything like the "Men's Sheds" we have here in Australia?

These are sheds or workshops set up in the community where non-working men can get together. They can hammer in a nail or work on a project; they can teach some-one else to hammer in a nail or help some-one else with their project, or they can go there just to interact socially, even if they're not interested in any type of project at all.

They've proven to be an excellent way of getting men out of the house, and have saved the sanity of many wives.

Sounds like your DH might be an ideal candidate for a program similar to this.

Koala, I bet it was somebody's wife that came up with the "Man Shed" idea!

No men sheds up here, but its a GREAT idea! I have been sending him away with his buddy Bill who is building a chicken coop and nesting boxes, and garden fences, and laying a new organic bed for the extra garden beds. Now these folks can live off the grid. Im an amatuer next to them. We are looking at houses in their town, so we can be closer to that community which has a great fire dept, a great rescue squad, and so many wonderful places for the DH to go and get out of my house!

I took 2 days off for rain delay and recovery. I was up at 5:30 for the cats this morn, and I was ready when he was up at 6. We ate a light breakfast first, while discussing our plans for the day. I am going to the drug store while he waits for the cable guy AGAIN!

I walked a much quicker step for 3 miles. My legs feel less rubbery, my stamina feels stronger, and I am a whole lot less winded. I work up a good sweat. I completely go blind with fuzzy vision, but since I have an escort I dont worry about it. I simply push thru. He will warn me for puddles, or garbage in the road. So, I put another 3 miles behind me today, and its coming so much easier. in the begining I thought I would die! my lungs were burning, my legs wobbled, my stomach turned, and my brain screamed QUIT! go lay down! Now, my brain is starting to switch gears and is accepting that its being challenged. I also got a nice endorphin rush popping this morning. its been forever since I felt that!

I really need to shift this weight, and I really need to get off my couch on onto the streets. If I live my life like this it will be a short one for me. I will simply sink into the couch cushion and fade away into my fav TV show. Thats if the cable would work!

Well, Dej, you've inspired me to try again. Walking, that is. DS brought the treadmill in from the garage and set it up in the sunroom for me.....right behind my computer desk.....so I can't pretend I don't see it!

I had been using it all the time and then we moved it out because I had company coming over for oldest DS's birthday dinner. It just never got moved back in. But it's here now! Gracie is sleeping on the belt.

Not sure I could ever do 3 miles but I'm going to do what I can. Anything is better than nothing, right?
