Even that five pounds is alot. Pick up a chicken at the market, it weighs about five pounds. It is alot of weight! Yeh for you. When I lost weight I did it by the chicken scale. I lost 13 chickens total! Just think about it when you go to the grocery, you will be surprised how good that will make you feel. I am behind all your effort sally. ginnie

My Gosh Sally! Now this has been an education to say the least.
My meds have caused the majority of my gross weight gain, but so has the neurological disease causing lack of activity. I am currently over 100 pounds overweight. I'm so far passed morbidly obese, I'm at autopsy obese! ![]() I eat one meal a day, breakfast. Since my brain stem stroke I've lost the ability to taste or deal with many food textures. I choke very easily, have difficulty swallowing along with several other complications. Fluid retention has become a severe problem due to an enlarged prostate and neurogenic bladder not fully emptying. I'm inspired by your stories of being able to lose weight. I'm so tired of having to pay the "Fat Tax" for oversized clothing. Bummer! You all have provided some very good ideas that I too shall look into, I have nothing to lose trying.

Being overweight is the least of your problems, Craig..
![]() Eating right is a good idea and losing a little excess weight could be a good thing for you, but you stay, at least pleasingly plump, OK? ![]()

Glad you liked the chicken idea. No joke, I would go in the store and pick up the chicken and think, I did this last week. That spurred me on like no other trick. You are doing great. Reward yourself with a healthy treat. Every pound lost is good. If you did it before, you can do it again. The trick is to keep it off. I am doing this I am in year #3 and stable at 130, on 5'1" frame. I can't say it is easy, but my satisfaction with clothes and the reaction of others keeps me going strong. I didn't want to be sick with all these health problems and just adding to my sorry state by my own doing. I suppose that was my real reason. I had an almost retired doctor talk to me in the kindest way possible when I was 192. He told me he was afraid for me. He hugged me. That did something positive to get me going in the right way. Doctors can and do have big effects on a person. Keep on doing the chicken sally, ginnie

I read your post. You have been reading ours. I want you to know I am thinking about you. You can do this too, even without excersise. It is harder, but I did it. My ankles are shot, no work outs, so it was stictly diet. Take little steps. If you want any hints, or to know receipies, or anything else i can do to spur you on, write to me. I will sure answer. You have more power in your mind that you think you do. I had tried many many times over the years, and failed time and time and time again. The way I fixed it worked by making small changes at first. Let me know anytime if you need something. I sure hope you keep trying. ginnie
