It is either arthritis from when I broke it several years back or varicose veins from standiing all day. Need to see a doctor. I hate to ask permission for a chair at work. That wouldn't go over well with my co-workers.

I am SO grateful that I didn't have to deal with any of that baloney at work. I didn't work "with" other people...my manager was awesome about my requests...fatigue mats, cooler A/C setting, a stool by the service window. He always sayd, "Whatever you need that will help your condition is fine with me." And nobody in the other offices thought I was getting "special" treatment. What a miracle.
I hope it miraculously gets better without intervention (earthly, I mean), and if not, that your doctor will come up with something helpful.

If one of your co-workers broke their ankle, they'd probably get permission to use a chair for awhile. I'd ask for a chair. Maybe the pain in your foot has another explanation than MS. (and heals soon too)

[I would not hesitate to ask for a chair at work. If this allows you to do your job OK, I wouldn't care what the other co-workers said. I hope they are kind to you and that your foot stops hurting. ginnie

They don't know about the MS and I want to hide it for at least another year until I would be eligible for LTD. If I should get really sick we get 100% pay for six months if needed. My 3 year anniversary is January 3rd. I think I'll ask the doctor for a note just until I can figure out what it is. It hurts a lot when I first get up from sitting and after standing for nine hours at work. I know it isn't MS or it wouldn't have that pattern.
If it's arthritis I don't know what could be done other than sitting at work because I can't take the anti-inflammatory meds. Most of the people I work with are young guys in the 20-40 age range and big babies. They get irked by me because I keep them on their toes with commissions. Older customers are drawn to me because they can relate to me better. And they usually are the buyers too. So if I get a chair, the whining will increase in volume I'm sure. ![]() ![]() ![]()
