Mine's usually the burning smell Kitty. I had so many near heart attacks thinking my place was on fire... only to have it pass 15 minutes later. Now I think "MS" when I go through the episodes... so I think I'd need a visual to be convinced it's a real threat ... not good at all!

I am w BTY, I have had the "everything taste like soap" hallucination for about a month. I keep drinking, water, tea, anything to make it go away. It doesn't work. Brushing teeth, tongue- nothing works. Other times I have had this I have had the odd smells- gas is common- but I have a virus at the moment and am spared the smells. Why soap??? ANN ![]() |

I've noticed this the last few days! Either things have no taste, or they taste like I have just brushed me teeth with strong toothpaste.
Kinda like drinking orange juice after tooth brushing.....same kind of feeling. Also last year I had this OVERWHELMING smell of peach in my mother-in-laws kitchen. No one else smelled it. Earlier in the house I had walked right through a "cloud" of mist or smoke then it disappeared. I had an over riding sense it was my deceased mother-in-law trying to communicate with me. It felt so strong that I started having a conversation with her photo! Now I wonder if its all just the MS? No peachy smell from mom?

I have experienced that from time to time, Punk. It's kind of annoying because our memory tells us something should taste one way and when we eat it, it takes funny. I never associated it with MS though.

Doesn't help that my father and his mother both have anxiety related to an irrational fear of fire - and guess what? I inherited this! So for years I'd smell this burning (long, long before the MS was in the picture) and freak the heck out! Now I know it's likely the MS, but depending on how bad it is, I may still do checking just to be sure.
