Confused Need help....

I need some help in finding a new doctor for my Olhipie. We would travel as far as SLC. I don't know if there is anyone on NT who is seeing a doctor from this area...

Our family practitioner...notice the word..."practitioner"...lol...

Seriously, our current doc is messing with our RX's. There is a doc in our area that is going to prison for prescribing to many medications for those who have chronic pain like most of us...our doc is afraid of over-prescribing. So he does random pee tests to make sure we are not using any drug that he didn't prescribe for us. He is also lowering Craigs pin killer dose and mine also as if he can wean us off eventually.

Craig was diagnosed 26 years ago with RRMS...now he is SPMS. His pain won't go away! Sorry about venting....

I am at this point am still having pain management from my surgeon. so I'm okay. Next month I will be seeing him and he will probably send me back to my stupid doc who will then try to get me to the lowest dose he can!

I'm at a loss of what to do....thanks for letting me vent!!!

Do you have an insurance company that can list various docs for you?
Gee, hope you can find a new doc soon...

I'm so sorry, Tamiloo.

What a pair you are! At least you understand each other's pain.

I can't remember if you've tried pain management -- I honestly don't know if that works, but its just a thought.

There's an MD here in my little town that loves to whip out the Rx pad, but I know that's too far for you to travel.

Oh my heck, I was thinking about Olhipie and his wild ride down the hill in his W/C! I can't believe he came out of that unscathed! He must have an angel on his shoulder! Well, another angel besides you, Miss Tamiloo.

Oh, I just had a flash: does Craig still have connections with his Olhipie friends from years ago? Maybe they'd have something to help ease the pain!

Wish I could be more helpful. I went to a class last week that taught if you read the scriptures that it will help your health.

Sending you and Craig many gentle hugs. I hope you find the perfect doctor with the perfect remedy for both of you!

i see an actual pain mgmt dr but i also have bad discs and RA that contribute to my pain. i have a lot of muscle pain that's attributed to my MS.

otherwise i don't think my regular pcp would Rx it either.

i wish you both the best. it's hard i know.

is there an MS center near you? Please call and ask them to refer you to it.

Have you spoken to your MD and asked for a referral? Tell him you are not happy with the program he is implementing, and worry for the future.

SLC should have a ton of great services. Dont let this person leave you suffering.

Hang in there.
