Hi Sally, long time, no see. What crossed my mind was the fact that they had to 'industrialize' it and make it a pill form, thus picking and choosing what goes in them, rather than letting the whole plant do its thing. But as you said, I don't know that it would 'cure' anything.

But, it sure can make you feel better. Which is good enough for many people.

Here in Connecticut, a medical MJ law was just passed recently. It'll be interesting to see how the state handles the whole thing.

I see many states have passed the MJ medical thing, and then they dont provide any places to purchase or have your prescription filled. NJ is a big example of that. They finally passed the law, yet there are no dispensaries. You cant take your script across the border (according to my friend) and yet there are no places to have it filled in state. I hope other states provide better examples.

What a tangled web the Gov't has spun. Damned if we do and damned if we don't.

Maybe we could strike a deal with the drug cartel to come over here and open shop..

It is against federal law to transport MJ across state borders.

MJ has been legal in CO for over 10 years, there are plenty of dispensaries but although I have a "green" card here in AZ, I cannot purchase any products in CO even though I would only purchase what I would use.

In AZ, I have what is called a caretaker. When I registered, I gave him my allotment of seeds and he grew MJ on my behalf.

He would deliver to my door, it was part of the deal. With my first year being almost over, he will start charging me but at a dramatically lower rate than others since my seeds got him started.

I have lots of product, I do not use as much as I currently have stored in various air tight jars.

DH makes cannabutter, it takes about a day and stinks up the house. We light a scented candle to mask the smell.

He makes brownies and wraps them individually. The cannabutter is strong so I only have to eat a small bite at bedtime. The objective is to avoid too much sugar at that time of night.

I also have a vaporizer but it seems to take less if I smoke. When smoking, I only take two draws and do not even hold my breath. When I tried a bong, it hurt my lungs. Smoking the small amount works to feel the "high."

Not crazy about the "high" but it wears off within 30 minutes. Does it work? After a year, I am still unsure. MJ is more a distraction from sx's.

It is in the same effective category as baclofen or neurotin. I never found any of the pharma drugs to work all that well.

I recommend that if you get a prescription, try to also find a caretaker. I have developed a good relationship with mine. He even gave me hash but I do not have a pipe. He said he would give me one next time.

DH has brought home clycerine(sp) cones from Denver. it is a pre made cigarette cone, a bit sweet on the lips and crumbled buds are put in it for smoking. Taste better than paper.

My 2 cents....

Nabilone (synthetic THC - formerly Cesemet, just went generic here) and the 'real stuff' on a vape - only substances that have been able to 'touch' the massive ball of pain that I get on the left side of my head and keep it under control enough so I can function. I tried many other commonly prescribed medications without success.

What works for one won't necessarily work for another.

(I'm legally allowed to have marijuana in my body/possession per my doctors/medical/prescriptions in Canada, and my prescription for Nabilone is actually a medication that's used to curb nausea in cancer treatment patients, or HIV positive individuals - as examples - completely legal in Canada and I believe it's legal across the board in the USA, the issue may be that of off label use - such as for pain in treatment of MS symptoms for example)

I lived near Denver for many years. Later I heard about a friend who had become a licensed dispenser and grower. He got shot in the face and killed (in front of his son) by a supposed customer. An inherent risk, I guess.

But yes, some other states are better examples, and handle MJ as a medication better.

It doesn't cure it and it doesn't slow progression but it sure does make it a whole lot easier to get through the day!

Anything that allows us to be more active/to remain active needs to be added to the list of approved meds. No one ever suggested it was a cure, but it has been shown to help with inflammation.

If canna-butter is made to a good strength, it does not take much of a baked good to relieve symptoms . . . you just need to give it a little longer to kick in. I have been getting a well-made medicated banana bread that a tiny slice will give relief for up to 6 hours . . . good relief! A mini loaf @$15 can last a week, and helps me cut down on inhaling, and sometimes even my pain meds are less necessary.

I would love to grow, but we live less than a block from a high school and an elementary school . . . and the attraction, and risk of becoming a crime victim, are just too great.
