Yes, a Lumbar puncture is used in the diagnostic process for MS as well as other conditions.

My Lumbar Puncture(LP) was positive (o-bands) when I was diagnosed. My neuro told me once the LP shows o-bands they will always be there. I have no desire to have another LP to see if it is true or not
