My sleep really depends on the day. I would love to sleep 10 hours but it doesn't happen very often. Usually I get 6-7 hours but it's interruped with bathroom breaks, (sometimes I'll self cath if I'm up every hour or two, that gets me a good 3 to 5 hours straight.)
If I get a hour nap after work I'm up later and the next day I'm tired because of a shorter night. That turns into a big cycle so I try not to do the nap unless I just can't stay awake. When we camp, 10 plus hours is a norm. I have teenaged boys and they always sleep late so my husband and I do too. We have a travel trailer and always run our air so we don't hear much. I sleep usually for about 8 to 9 hours. I may lay down during the afternoon to rest but I can't fall asleep. In fact, I can not fall asleep natuarally at all. I have been taking ambien for about 6 years now, and I guess I am addicted.

I normally get between 8-10 hours although before I started taking Melatonin I would easily sleep 12 hours on my days off and still feel tired when I finally got out of bed.
I never had a problem going to sleep but I'm up numerous times to go to the bathroom, break up a cat fight, let the dog out etc. so even though I could go right back to sleep my quality of sleep was very poor. Although I still have the interruptions I think the Melatonin is increasing the good sleep phase. Now on my days off I rarely need more than 9 hours sleep, when I nap it is shorter and more refreshing and when I do wake up even during the night I'm don't feel horribly exhausted like I used to.

Not officially dx'd with anything -- however --
I find I sleep a lot, but I'm very often fatigued. I know full well that it's not good sleep. I do find that if I take something (like an Advil PM or something) I sleep through the night without waking up, without itching and I'm not fatigued (at least for a while). But I can't do that if I can't promise myself at least 10 hours or so. I sorta hopalong being a bit snoozy all the time. Sucks, but I've grown accustomed. |

I try to go to bed, around 10-11. I have to get up around 6am. Get the kids ready for school, and myself to work.
I do, find, every once in a while, I can sleep in, on a Saturday or Sunday, until about 10/11am. When the kids decide they don't feel obligated to wake me up. It was an 8am day, today...through no choice of my own ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

It might be a good idea to ask you Primary Care Physician for a Sleep Study to check if you have some sort of sleep disorder.

I'm another in the 3-4 hour a night camp. I have a very hard time getting comfortable to get to sleep. Many times I get mad and take Advil PM. I'll often times be just about to sleep then start twitching or itching and wake myself up.
