Hi
I am just curious if anyone has ever had these symptoms. What does it sound like this is? 1. Adrenalin rushes that last for hours and sometimes days (had this for two years but no longer). If I was even a tiny bit stressed it felt like a bomb went off next to me like. I would shake, my chest would get tight, my head would feel like it went white and I wouldn't be able to think clearly. It would only stop if i lied down. they tested me for a brain tumor but I had none. Then the symptoms started to ease up and I never went in for more testing. 2. After applying tanner one night I was blow drying my body (haha I know it was my first time! ![]() Flash forward. I've had generic vibration touch tests done by my GP-normal. And I expected that. I CAN feel touch vibration etc. but there is something missing ONLY when hot air hits them. No other time usually. Then last week for a day my right leg was NORMAL again. This is when I knew with certainty the muted sensation I was feeling was not all in my head ( as the doctor made me feel). My right leg could feel everything fine. My left leg muted and partially numb to the air/heat combo. But since then both have returned to being partially numb with the blow dryer again. 3. My nails have gone white. All labs normal. It took three doctors before someone defined them-Terry's nails. Still no one knows why my nails on my feet and hands have turned white. 4. I get extremely fatigued if I get 6 hours. I used to have fatigue for ten years. Then it let up. But now if I get a few nights of six hours I feel weak. Like speaking, breathing, are tiring. Is this normal?? 5. TMI. I have GI problems. My left side of my large intestine NEVER fully evacuates. Not even when they brought me in for a sigmoidoscopy and gave me a hospital grade enema. The doctor said the muscle in the bowel looked fine but could something neurological cause this part to never empty completely? ?? This has been plaguing me for five years. I am only in my early 30s. I'd love to hear from anyone with very similar experiences. I'm lost here. |

Here is a link to Terry's Nails:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry%27s_nails Also anemia will cause pale nail beds. This link is also very good about nail findings: http://www.aafp.org/afp/2004/0315/p1417.html

I can relate to the feelings on your leg. Its called "altered sensation". Its not really numb but feels numbish. I likened it to feeling like I was wearing a rubber glove or something. I could feel, but the feeling wasn't correct.
As for the other things, I can not relate. Might be wise for you to keep a detailed journal of how you feel so you can judge time and space. Just keep hanging in there and try not to get too discouraged. If there is something wrong, it could take a long time before the moon and the stars line-up just right.......and you find out what it is! ![]()

I notice that one of the things that could cause Terry's nails is hyperthyroidism. That might go with your feeling of adrenalin rushes. I assume you have had your thyroid tested.
Best to you, ANN |

My guess for the problems that occur when blow drying your hair is a psuedoexacerbation (http://www.sharecare.com/question/wh...iple-sclerosis). Like a temporary flare brought on by heat.
MS is so frustrating, isn't it? Sorry this is happening to you.

Actually....your adrenalin attack may be an anxiety issue. Close to my initial diagnosis, I was having the same type of thing.
It seemed to come out of no where. I also had sudden attacks of phobia....like driving across a bridge or heights.....something I never had before. Much of it went away....but some remains. Its like a free floating type of anxiety.....hits you anytime or place. I personally think it came with the MS. I take a low dose Ativan (.05) If you are feeling the "flight or fight" response......its anxiety ![]() Mine is not real bad like a panic attack......just what I would call "hyper awareness"

http://psychcentral.com/blog/archive...ight-response/ http://www.webmd.com/balance/guide/all-stressed-out This is not a "MS symptom" but a normal reaction for many people. The symptoms experienced during your "Adrenalin rushes" are normal. Quote:

You may want to consult with a Psychiatrist to evaluate your "adrenaline Rushes" and see if medication might be an option. If so, your symptoms might improve. You could also try Mindful Meditation and see if you can get some control over your flight/fight/freeze reactions. Best wishes and I hope you get answers to health concerns soon.
