Default Went to the doctor today

I went to my PCP today and this is what I found out - he is taking me off rebif to see if its the cause. he is also prescribing some meds to help me sleep, and if in a week I don't feel better then we will go to the next step.

I'm going to stay off Rebif until I go to the MS Center on Aug 19th to see what they will say. I forgot the names of the medications he is putting me on until then, so I'll update it when I get them filled this afternoon.

Glad you have someone who is listening to you and trying to work with you. Maybe you will figure out what is going on or at least have someone on your side. Good luck.

Sending prayers that you will feel better soon.

It's an Allergy med. I've never had it.

I was prescribed Phenergan for nausea. It knocked me right out and I slept for several hours after I took it.

Phenergan is very sedating. You should make a list of all your
drugs, and then go to the free drugchecker and look them up.

http://www.drugs.com/drug_interactions.php

Phenergan is related to the antipsychotic drugs used for schizophrenia and bipolar. It has some antinausea and antihistamine properties, but is not as strong as the first gen antihistamines like Benadryl. Phenergan is typically used for nausea control due to use of opiates. It can be very sedating.

Don't hesitate to consult your pharmacist. Mixing many different drugs can create situations that are complex and unexpected so be very careful with all your medications.

I use Zyrtec generic for antihistimine. It may be the only one I can use...my pcp looks up on the web to find which drugs are safe for my other illness, Porphyria. Zyrtec is not sedating. I take it at night, but I can be awake anyway, and never wake up drowsy from it. It is timed released. I take it for the violent itch associated with another ailment, Polycythemia Vera. I would hate to take an antihistimine which would make me groggy to the point where I was unsafe driving in the neighborhood, or unsafe on stairs.
I have never had nausea from an opiate like Demerol so I'm out of the picture there.

I think my first order of business would be to go to an MS Neurologist and not a PCP. The PCP is not trained to treat or diagnose MS.
