Hi everyone,
My name is heather and I'm new here. I've been to my doctors and been waiting 3 months for a neurology appointment. Basically I started with double vision in June and it got worse until it was permanently there. The optician said some of my eye muscles had stopped working properly. My arms and legs have been very weak, worse in the mornings gradually improving as the day goes on but never goes away. Chewing has become a bit difficult since then and sometimes feels like my diaphragm isn't working fully to get a proper deep breath-that comes and goes. I have very mild tingling in my hands sometimes too. Stairs are a bit of a nightmare, any more than one flight and my legs have crumpled under me. The now added complication to this is I'm pregnant-delighted but also worried too. Is anyone else in the same boat? |

Hi Heather and Welcome to NeuroTalk. Please tell us what your
Neuro says, after all of your testing. If it is MS then Pregnancy is a good thing, as the protective hormones usually kick in and soften your MS symptoms, while Pregnant. I hope you get a DX and med help soon. ![]()

hi heather and welcome to NT,
congrats on your baby to come. when is your neuro appt? you might want to consider seeing and opthamologist ( eye physician) instead of an optometrist. that dr can order tests that the other can't. it might help until you see the neuro and give you information. start to get copies of test results and ask for copies of any mri's you get. it will help other drs you might see. we're here to talk to for info and support. let us know how you are.

Have you explored the possibility of myasthenia gravis? The chewing difficulty and breathing problems are indicative of that, and double vision is a very prominent symptom.
Take care and good luck. |

I have looked at MG-that sounds even more terrifying regarding the pregnancy! I'm enrolling at a new GP this week as I've moved house so I'll start again and go from the start. |
