Hi Sally...oh I so wish I could afford to go back to Cali. Thank you for joining my pity party ..... there are so few that can walk the floor of hell with us sometimes aren't there? I feel fortunate that there are people here that listen and share themselves.

thanks

Hi Janet. I add my empathy, sympathy, and prayers for you.
I sure wish I could move back to CA too. I feel isolated here for reasons which I've outlined, in the desert. I do not know why God allowed us to move here, but of course I'm stuck because of the real estate depression, which probably will continue indefinitely. Probably you will not end up under a pile of cement, which may happen on the Coast at any moment, via earthquake. I presume you arrived in Las Vegas because of a similar misjudgment, but you may be one of the survivors, oddly enough, because of this. Just sayin', don't have a crystal ball. Praying for joy to find a way into your heart.

PS Magnesium is an old remedy for seizures.

Hi Janet,

Sorry that you are going through a rough patch.

I had a severe seizure in 2010 during a relapse when MS reared its ugly head after being in remission for over a year. It messed me up for a couple of days cognitively and when I managed to get into my doctor at first he thought that I had suffered a stroke. Apparently the seizure caused a spasm in my jaw that subluxated the TMJ and since then my jaw is offset by 1/4 of an inch. I also lost a muscle of mastication (masseter) on the inside of the cheek on the right side.

An MRI revealed a new active lesion at the base of the cerebral cortex that my MS neuro now believes is the cause of my ongoing symptoms; although the lesion did not show up on contrast in the last 2 MRIs. The neuro re-classified my MS as secondary progressive last year as a result.

I think that you should try to get an MRI because if your seizures are caused by a similar lesion, perhaps a course of steroids, if you tolerate them, will settle it down.

Sending prayers and well wishes that things turn around for you straight away .

With love, Erika

Thank you Erika so much for your kind words and for sharing your experience. I just had MRI's head/neck/thorasic w and w/o contrast just prior to this incident. I have a cat scan this coming Thursday. We will see. My neuro has also mentioned giving me the "promotion" to secondary progressive. Do we get a toaster oven with that one? lol. Yes, for several days afterward I was loopy and confused and very tired. Feeling a bit better today happy to say. I will let you know how the scan goes. Thanks again

Thank you for the tip on magnesium. I will check into it. I moved to Vegas right after my open heart surgery (to replace aortic valve) and during the time we were losing our house to foreclosure and while we were ending our 12 yr partnership. I guess you could call running away bad judgment.....lol I wouldn't make the same choice that's for sure. My mom was not well and she lived with me when I got here. But then passed away 9 mos later. As for earthquakes in Cali....been through 2 very large quakes....not pleasant but LA is built fairly well for them. I'd still go back if I could. But alas....I better adjust to the desert. Anyway thanks for your support and kind words. Nice to know I have a cali transplant stuck in the desert kindof comrade here!
hugs,
janet
