Default Heart Palpitations Making Me Nuts!!!!

I have been having them for several months very often now. I went to the Cardio....they said my BP was way high so started on BP meds.....also taking cymbalta......BUT SAID MY HEART WAS FINE.....

I had been taking several Excedrine Tension Headach pills a day for headachs but when I relized they were full of caffinee I stopped them(couple months back)......well now I have the palp's again.....bad....

it makes me feel like I cant catch my breath, nasusa, and some dizziness. It is in my chest and sorta radiates into my throat (on the left side). It doesnt matter if at rest or working, wakes me from my sleep, even happens while eating. I have to just take deep breaths and concentrate on breathing....then I feel so whipped the rest of the day. As of late I am having them many many times a day, sometimes one right after another (the spells as i call them) sometimes lasting from few seconds to several minutes.I dont get it.....

I am sick of this....if its not my heart and I am on meds for BP and Depression then what the heck is going on? IT IS TRUELY MAKING ME NUTS!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat, kid. I had a "spell" of that myself last night and immediately thought of your thing. Drives me nuts too. I was just sitting here watching the baby bunnies and, bam! There it is. My BP is fine, my heart is fine, respiratory, fine. I don't get it either but I hate it.

My late friend, Myrna, was a nurse and she told me that a few hard coughs would help it end. That was years ago and now the coughs poop me out too!

You were up pretty late so I'm guessing it kept you from sleep?

Hi FFM,

Sorry about the palpitations! What other meds are you on? Some of the BP pills might do that? Not sure though. (I take three of them.) I take Cymbalta, and it makes my heart a bit faster too. Are you by chance taking Provigil? That made my heart speed way up...

WIZ! Pro! I never even thought about that. But I've had this for countless years, even before I was dx, and I don't take Pro on a daily basis. I haven't noticed a direct correlation, but I'd bet there is one.

Good sleuthing!

Ewiz and Cin....
I have not taken Pro for couple weeks now.....I have been having them off and on pretty strong for couple weeks but last 2 days they are consistant.

I take a lopressor for BP and cymbalta thats all......zanaflex and ultram as needed. same thing every day. nothing new.......guess I am just getting wore out.......who knows but life goes on......seems as long as I stay busy I either 1) dont have them as bad or 2) dont notice them lol......so I just stay busy lol.....
but thanks for the concern girls!!!

It's so strange, it just came out of nowhere last night and I do the breathing thing too. I don't get so nauseated as I do distracted. This disease is a blinkin' barrel of monkies (no offense, Curious).

Update on Kay:

Her internet server is down so I called a little while ago, she is wearing a 24-hour Holter monitor and will be finished around noon tomorrow (CST). They expect to upload data upon removal and have an evaluation some time tomorrow afternoon. I'll keep in touch with her for results, and hopefully, her crummy ISP will get their act together!

She's in good spirits and sounds quite good.
