Question Do "four footed" canes ease shoulder pain?

Hi
Considering I saw this idea on the fiction show "house" LOL I dont know if its true or not but am curious to know since my good side has a bum shoulder.

They made a comment about those four footed canes being easier on the shoulder ?

Arent they hard to lift and walk tho ? Heck I trip over a straight cane already

Thanks for input
