Yo! Finally got caught up on this thread!

Okay this is what we are going to do........

Get some of the 4th of July speckled Marshmellow Peeps.

Now don't eat them! Yuck!

Cindy knows lots of ways to destroy them!

I think I will put mine on the top of some sparklers. Light the sparklers and see if I can roast the little buggers that way.

What will you do to with your marshmellow Peeps?

Come on...it will make you feel better.

AfterMyNap 07-02-2007 10:18 PM

I think I'll send a peep-o-gram tied on a balloon and see where it lands. Might make for interesting science.

DM 07-03-2007 01:52 PM

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Did I tell you all that a while back I got a PEEP box from a couple of "friends"?? It was filled w/all kinds of Peep paraphenalia. I about fell outta my chair laughing so hard.

I won't tell you who did it, but one of them is posting on this thread...

*subliminal message* It was .... (ahem) AMN. But ya didn't hear it here.

Too funny...... Uh, Taffy??? No peeps for you. *in my soup nazi voice*

SallyC 07-03-2007 01:55 PM

Ahhhhhh, a new day. I think I'll go out a squash some, red, white and blue peeps..:Crowded: :Crowded: :Crowded: TeeHee.

Tomorrow is the 4TH and my Schwan Guy is coming. I'm getting some boneless barbeque ribs, to celebrate. My Hubby and I used to do ribs and baked taters on the fourth and then sit on the patio to watch fireworks. We could actually see them from there.

My DD and Grands will most likely be at their poolside tomorrow with hotdogs a burgers and, most likely, company. Not meeee!! I'm outta the heat.

I still like Holidays, although I don't celebrate them as much as I used too. Mostly because I'm a lazy butt.:D

Are any of you celebrating? If you have Kids, I guess you can't avoid it, huh? WoooooooHoooooooo!!:Trapeze 2:

Oh Lordy...imagining looking up from my yard and seeing a freakin' peep floating by...LOL!!!

I would be forced to go and get the gun and do some hunting ! :D

I believe peep paraphenalia is illegal......I was warned about people like you :icon_eek:

azoyizes 07-03-2007 06:16 PM

Cheryl: I hope your doctor's apt. went okay.

Taffy: Can you make Smores with Peeps?? Not that I would ever think of eating a Peep. No, not me! Actually, I would eat almost anything if it had sugar on it and in it.

Sally: Enjoy your meal.

We're going to a potluck at some friend's house, but will come home to watch fireworks from our deck. That's what I want to do, sit in the dark and watch the display over the trees.

Have a great 4th, everyone!

tovaxin_lab_rat 07-03-2007 06:38 PM

I didn't get to see the doc today. I did the MSFC testing - oh joy! Pegs, walking, and the PSAT. And then went for the MRI. They had trouble getting the IV started for the GAD, but at least the tech only tries once and then gets the IV nurse. She had trouble but got it.

I see the doc on Thursday.

Taffy -- peeps tomorrow??? :D

DM 07-03-2007 07:25 PM

Whatcha doin tomorrow Cheryl??? Do you just have to hang around and wait till Thurs? Sending positive thoughts your way!!!

The 4th used to be a big deal for us, but now w/the kids' out on their own... it's just another day. We are leaving w/the RV tomorrow and will be back Sun... so it'll be nice to just rest and read books.... woohoo..

Have a safe 4th all..... :Dancing-Chilli: (I know it's a dancing chili, but it does kind of look like a lil firecracker, eh????? :D

Taffy 07-03-2007 08:50 PM

Yum....Sal enjoy the ribs.

I wanna know what kind of Peep stuff you got DM? Please?

Az....Peeps burn very well!

RW....Shoot the Peep the next time you see it.

AMN....What are you doing on the 4th?

FG...sorry you have to spend such a long time in Portland. Oh...they poked you with needles, didn't they. Mean, mean, people.....

DM 07-03-2007 08:55 PM

Hmmmm.. *scratching head*
Let's see Taffy... there were peeps sunglasses, peeps puzzle, peeps stuffed toy, peeps in an egg, lots of fun things and even a box of PEEPS...

Somebody's doin' voo doo on Flygirl? Did it work??? How cute, a little FG dollie, in a red jacket, white blouse and black trousers; sensible shoes too!

What am I doing on the 4th? I dunno, when is it?

Yep..they dressed up an Easter Bunny Peep to look like our FG!

The 4th? I think it is soon. How about BBQ a nice steak?

Ha ha ha! You're just a barrel of laughs!

I don't know when the 4th is! Maybe the day after the 3rd and the day before the 5th?

tovaxin_lab_rat 07-05-2007 09:42 PM

Well, the verdict is in. I start 3 days of IVSM on Monday. I flunked all the neuro tests today. I am officially having an exacerbation. Like I didn't know that. Gee, lucky me.

So, tomorrow I get the vaccine, get observed for 24 hours then head back home on Saturday, and rest for the remainder of the weekend.

SallyC 07-05-2007 11:11 PM

Oh pooh, Cheryl...STEROIDS!!! I know you hate them, but I do hope they help you get out of this attack.

May this be the last one you have for many a year.

Thanks Sally. Yep, you know how much I hate steroids. I have done them so many times, you'd think I'd be used to this. I just hate them. I know I need to and I put it off as long as I could, but dang it...:(

AfterMyNap 07-06-2007 12:15 PM

You'll do fine, FG. The trick is going to be getting you to slow down and give it a chance to work!

I'm homicidal today, yet another phone has failed me! This is making me nuts, I tell ya'. The warranty system with these refurbished, crap-for-guts phones is about as low as they can go! My brand-new phone bites the dust and their answer is to replace the guts with a refurb? I want a new phone, dangit! I won't change models because there is no way I will increase my contract to the evil ones!!

It's miserable hot here today and that, and a couple other issues have me downright whiny. Bleah.

FlyFishin Momma 07-06-2007 12:47 PM

Cindy....That is it you have to invent, patent and manufacture your own line of cell phones..........I know you can do it...you can do anything.

FG I hope you on the road to mending....please take it easy and relax ....if you know how to that is........

Me.......well had the abcess burst in my mouth from my tooth yesterday. The dentist said I have to go another round of antibotics before he will touch me.....(just finished a dose thrusday am)......now my stomach is upset from the darn thing......Its HOT HOT HOT and humid here......I have a house full of comany on the way.....and just wanna go to bed and sleep. But cant, got laundry going and supposed to be vaccuming and sweeping and mopping right now....but sat down to drink a quick cup of coffee.

Thought I would check on everyone right quick.

Have a good weekend all......

Snoopy 07-06-2007 01:32 PM

Cindy ~ cell phones....I hate them but a necessary evil nowadays. I hate signing a new contract just to get a new phone. We're waiting it out for another year until the contract is up on our daughters cell then we're switching providers.

Cheryl ~ I hope the roids help.....good luck with them.

FFM ~ OUCH! Gotta love having company at times like this. What the heck, just tell them to go home:rolleyes:

Me ~ WooHoo, WooHoo!! I went cold turkey with the Cymbalta (it's been 3 or 4 weeks now). Decided to use the treadmill 3 days ago, went one mile at 2 percent incline and have increased the distance....yesterday ( 1.15 mile) and today (1.25 mile). I even have more energy.

I am frustrated though. I need ADs to feel better mentally however they make me more tired, low energy and my physical ability is diminished. I have seen this happen everytime I take an AD. Everytime I end up blaming it on possible MS progression but see a physical improvement evertime I stop an AD.

What the heck!:Dunno:

Taffy 07-06-2007 03:40 PM

FG...sorry that you need to start the roids. You have not had you every 3 month relapse cycle...maybe this will be the last one!

AfterMyNap 07-06-2007 04:39 PM

No kidding, Snoop, so much of this med junk is catch-22. Ya' just can't win, I guess. Man, I hate when stuff saps my energy like that. It's like most of the world gets a whole gallon each day and can dole it out in cupfuls, while we start with an eyedropper's worth and every drop is precious.

I really feel like I've gained, so far, being off the shots. Honestly, it's so minute a difference, even seasoned experts probably wouldn't notice it, but I do and I'm all that matters, right?

Okay! We're on re-gutted cellphone #4, plus the original, so that's 5 in six months. I have a letter in to Motorola and will be doing my notorious paper letters assault on the entire corporate block down there in Schaumburg. They'll get so sick of me, they'll beg me to take an apologetic free phone just to get the garbage off their desks! I am in my element— they're goin' down!!

doydie 07-06-2007 10:15 PM

I'm actually one of the wierd ones that hate cell phones! I think they are an intrusion on a persons privacy. Sometimes the time I have in the mall or in the car is the only time I have to myself and I don't need someone calling me just to talk. They can leave a message on my answering machine. If it was something I needed to pick up for them, well they just should of called me before I left. It will teach them to be better organized.

I remember the good ol' days growing up in a household of 7, one bathroom, one phone and one TV. You all had to work together. Schedules had to be written down, lists made and I loved my own private moments. To this day, my sister and I have strict rules that no one, I mean no one gets in our purses. That was the only thing we didn't share or have that was a hand me down.

I do have one of those TracPhones that I carry with me when I drive out of town. I do recognize that emergencies do happen. I remember one time driving home from Lexington seeing the grand kids. Lexington was having terrible storms. My other daughter was leaving Indianapolis and there was a tornado. We all talked to each other the whole trip home. Also we both have elderly mothers in not so great health and I do see a need for a cell phone for that. But my girls know that my cell phone is not turned on unless I need it.

SallyC 07-06-2007 10:27 PM

Me too, Doydie. I only turn on my cell if my other phone is out of order or if I'm going someplace away from my home phone.

My loved ones know if I don't answer my home phone to then try my cell.

On the other hand, if anyone here wants my phone numbers, just PM me. I am always available for my MS Buddies, if they need me.

AfterMyNap 07-06-2007 10:36 PM

Oh, Doyd, I do understand what you mean. When I was first required by my company to have one when I had out-of-office appointments, it infuriated me. Time mellowed that initial insult for me.

When the MS really started beating me up, I felt glad to have it just sitting in the car. Then they started the programs with perks like free long-distance and that was a big one for me, my friends are all over the country.

Now, 20-odd years later, I can't imagine life without it. The only reason I have a landline is for DSL (I'm too cheap for cable internet). My "work" now is phone support for a lot of people and it gives me a sense of purpose.

I don't relate to all the silly gadgetry available nowadays, to me, it's just a phone. Now, the iPhone, well, that's a different story!;)

Are you on the waiting list for an iPhone? I've been watching the ads for them. I just can justify the cost right now. My business is going to have to do a whole lot better! Now if I hadn't bought that Red Pendleton Jacket.....:p

Nope, I'm not a generational pioneer, I'll wait for the third generation so most bugs are worked out. Plus, I'm decidedly opposed to switching to AT&T and will wait until the exclusivity wears off.

This heat is beating the carp out of me today. I went outside to get the paper and felt like I had been steamrolled. Thankfully, Netflix came through yesterday!

Snoopy 07-08-2007 12:29 PM

Speaking of finding words......I know it wasn't mentioned:p

I had a MS moment last night......

I was telling a story, yes a true one, about eating grass (the legal kind) and I could not find the word I wanted. I said "you know, like pasturizing." My oh, so smart butt son says " do you mean grazing" with one eye brow cocked......Yep, that's what I meant.

BTW ~ There was no point to this, my fingers just started moving and here we are:icecream:

It was a one time thing, Cheryl. Take it back because it didn't fit right..LOL!

It took me long enough to get used to having a computer. I don't think I'm up for an IPod or do I want one. I'm sure all the Mac users will want one though.

I heard that they're coming out with an :Thats-Funneh: ICart to carry your groceries. :ROTFLMAO:

Good one, Snoop! And you even said a real word! My big thing is that I'll instantly combine 2 or more words into one, newly-invented, polysyllabic term. The illiterate probably think I'm showing off! LOL! The bummer is, I can never remember what my fake words were, even though they're often pretty hilarious.

Well, April, I happen to think that occasional spurts of energy are for our chosen use, so I'm glad you had a nice weekend. So, good for you! I'm also glad that you recognize the point where you just shouldn't push it anymore. See my signature for my personal recovery method.;)
