So what do you all think? Am I dumb as a stick? Cruise America has these wild deals in the fall to get their fleet distributed back into position for winterizing, etc. So, they have some units in Seattle and want them in MI, sooooooo, I'm thinking about flying out and getting one of those to drive it back. How sick is that?????

A lot of people do that and they are great deals! That way you can sleep wherever you want...pee whenever you want, and eat whenever you want! That's not sick....that's great! They are easy to drive. And I bet if you figure out the fuel consumption, you would be better of doing that! ;)

It's called "have hotel will travel!" :D ( or as our friends say - have toilet will travel! He has 3 daughters and a wife!) And it sure beats schleeping all your luggage around! And all your friends would fit in it too! No fighting over seats! LOL!

We have a 28' travel travel and it's great! Of course, the truck we pull it with is a gas hog, but it's nice to have.

They are ridiculous great deals! I've been hammering out the math like a crazy woman with the lousy mileage, campsites, etc. It's practically a tie.

The one or two things I keep thinking about are that my little Honda is super comfy and decked out for my enjoyment. HC parking will be out, and humping my scooter in and out of it will take a little doing.

I've camped all my life, so I know what I'd be in for, it's a matter of what's going to be easiest. I'm keenly aware of how nice it is to just plunk her down and crash! The rodeo involved with hotels gets old and I'm so much happier waking to the sounds and smells of a campsite but also recognize the physical limitations as a huge deterrent. Decisions, decisions!

OK, what did I miss??? I take it you are not just flying out to Seattle to Shlepp one car back to MI. Where did the camping come about?? Duh:confused:

CruiseAmerica is a rental company for RVs.

AMN
How about a good old fashioned flip of the coin. Heads its camper, tails the Honda. Or visa versa. Best of 3 wins.

Taffy pops in....

CruiseAmerica! Did that once. Loved it!

Oh, ya got to come to Seattle Nappy! (whining and stomping feet)

(Where can I hide in RV? Nope, she will find me there. Not good in there either. Cheese-nip! It smells in there! Must find place to hide..... )

(Ok...once Nappy is loaded I will pop out and we will head to Idaho! :D )

(I wonder what road rash feels like?:( )

Good luck on your decision, if you come this way I will take a sick day and come find you!

Stop yer whining Patty, I'm gonna stalk you, don't worry.

Sheesh, big baby.

Curious 07-31-2007 07:04 PM

cindy...before you decide...watch the movie RV with robin williams :p

Camping???? Me like camping. Of course, you know that DM is totally high maintenance. We are camping about every wkend. But, remember Cin~~you have to take into consideration that an RV requires dumping, etc b4 pulling out of the campgrounds.

I don't do it, the ole guy I live w/is in charge of potty duty. RV'g is great, but still a lot more work than hotels....

But, knowing how much you like the outdoors, it may be worth the trade off for ya... Decisions, decisions???? :Dunno:

LOL! You've obviously never heard of a honey-dipper! On-site pumpouts, honey. It's worth the $10 to me! Pashaw, like my balance is any match for that job! LOL!!

Anyway, I've been doing a reality check while shooting the tube tonight, and though my heart is in the woods, my bod honestly doesn't have the power to do it. It's sad.

Some will not get this, but, tonight on the way home I caught a whiff of a skunk that obviously met its demise and it made me smile. Especially since it wasn't on me for once! (Kind of had the habit of chasing them in the campground where I worked just to freak out the campers... it didn't always go my way.)
