Cindy ~ cell phones....I hate them but a necessary evil nowadays. I hate signing a new contract just to get a new phone. We're waiting it out for another year until the contract is up on our daughters cell then we're switching providers.

Cheryl ~ I hope the roids help.....good luck with them.

FFM ~ OUCH! Gotta love having company at times like this. What the heck, just tell them to go home

Me ~ WooHoo, WooHoo!! I went cold turkey with the Cymbalta (it's been 3 or 4 weeks now). Decided to use the treadmill 3 days ago, went one mile at 2 percent incline and have increased the distance....yesterday ( 1.15 mile) and today (1.25 mile). I even have more energy.

I am frustrated though. I need ADs to feel better mentally however they make me more tired, low energy and my physical ability is diminished. I have seen this happen everytime I take an AD. Everytime I end up blaming it on possible MS progression but see a physical improvement evertime I stop an AD.

What the heck!

FG...sorry that you need to start the roids. You have not had you every 3 month relapse cycle...maybe this will be the last one!

No kidding, Snoop, so much of this med junk is catch-22. Ya' just can't win, I guess. Man, I hate when stuff saps my energy like that. It's like most of the world gets a whole gallon each day and can dole it out in cupfuls, while we start with an eyedropper's worth and every drop is precious.

I really feel like I've gained, so far, being off the shots. Honestly, it's so minute a difference, even seasoned experts probably wouldn't notice it, but I do and I'm all that matters, right?

Okay! We're on re-gutted cellphone #4, plus the original, so that's 5 in six months. I have a letter in to Motorola and will be doing my notorious paper letters assault on the entire corporate block down there in Schaumburg. They'll get so sick of me, they'll beg me to take an apologetic free phone just to get the garbage off their desks! I am in my element— they're goin' down!!

I'm actually one of the wierd ones that hate cell phones! I think they are an intrusion on a persons privacy. Sometimes the time I have in the mall or in the car is the only time I have to myself and I don't need someone calling me just to talk. They can leave a message on my answering machine. If it was something I needed to pick up for them, well they just should of called me before I left. It will teach them to be better organized.

I remember the good ol' days growing up in a household of 7, one bathroom, one phone and one TV. You all had to work together. Schedules had to be written down, lists made and I loved my own private moments. To this day, my sister and I have strict rules that no one, I mean no one gets in our purses. That was the only thing we didn't share or have that was a hand me down.

I do have one of those TracPhones that I carry with me when I drive out of town. I do recognize that emergencies do happen. I remember one time driving home from Lexington seeing the grand kids. Lexington was having terrible storms. My other daughter was leaving Indianapolis and there was a tornado. We all talked to each other the whole trip home. Also we both have elderly mothers in not so great health and I do see a need for a cell phone for that. But my girls know that my cell phone is not turned on unless I need it.

Me too, Doydie. I only turn on my cell if my other phone is out of order or if I'm going someplace away from my home phone.

My loved ones know if I don't answer my home phone to then try my cell.

On the other hand, if anyone here wants my phone numbers, just PM me. I am always available for my MS Buddies, if they need me.

Oh, Doyd, I do understand what you mean. When I was first required by my company to have one when I had out-of-office appointments, it infuriated me. Time mellowed that initial insult for me.

When the MS really started beating me up, I felt glad to have it just sitting in the car. Then they started the programs with perks like free long-distance and that was a big one for me, my friends are all over the country.

Now, 20-odd years later, I can't imagine life without it. The only reason I have a landline is for DSL (I'm too cheap for cable internet). My "work" now is phone support for a lot of people and it gives me a sense of purpose.

I don't relate to all the silly gadgetry available nowadays, to me, it's just a phone. Now, the iPhone, well, that's a different story!

Are you on the waiting list for an iPhone? I've been watching the ads for them. I just can justify the cost right now. My business is going to have to do a whole lot better! Now if I hadn't bought that Red Pendleton Jacket.....

Nope, I'm not a generational pioneer, I'll wait for the third generation so most bugs are worked out. Plus, I'm decidedly opposed to switching to AT&T and will wait until the exclusivity wears off.

This heat is beating the carp out of me today. I went outside to get the paper and felt like I had been steamrolled. Thankfully, Netflix came through yesterday!

Speaking of finding words......I know it wasn't mentioned

I had a MS moment last night......

I was telling a story, yes a true one, about eating grass (the legal kind) and I could not find the word I wanted. I said "you know, like pasturizing." My oh, so smart butt son says " do you mean grazing" with one eye brow cocked......Yep, that's what I meant.

BTW ~ There was no point to this, my fingers just started moving and here we are

It was a one time thing, Cheryl. Take it back because it didn't fit right..LOL!

It took me long enough to get used to having a computer. I don't think I'm up for an IPod or do I want one. I'm sure all the Mac users will want one though.

I heard that they're coming out with an ICart to carry your groceries.
