Hi Kelly,

Quote:
What spinal tap result is an indication of MS? is high white blood cells a sign of that or would that be something completely different?
Quote:
My spinal tap showed high white blood cell count.
A Lumbar Puncture(LP) is used in the diagnostic process for many things

Quote:
Increased white blood cells in the CSF may be a sign of meningitis, acute infection, beginning of a chronic illness, tumor, abscess, stroke, or demyelinating disease (such as multiple sclerosis).
https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/...cle/003428.htm
If you will read though the link provided in the quoted area you will see some of the conditions the LP may be used to diagnose.

A LP for MS is looking for CSF oligoclonal banding (o-banding). Information about o-banding:
https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/...cle/003631.htm

Approximately 90%-95% of those with MS have o-bands when testing spinal fluid. However, there are those diagnosed with MS who either never had a LP or their LP was negative.

There is no single test, by it's self, that can give a definite diagnosis.

Quote:
Can you be tested for Optic Neritis and not show anything but still have it?
What testing, other than the MRI have you had done for your vision? Have you seen an Ophthalmologist? If an Ophthalmologist did not find Optic Neuritis(ON) on exam and the MRI did not show any sign of ON then it would be highly doubtful your eye problem is due to ON.

Quote:
If I have nothing wrong with me, eg: I have just bumped my head, or had depression, that is why I have lessions on my brain - would I have headaches and vision issues from this?
Lesions found on MRI can have many different causes. Your MRI report has an "impression" section that will give you more information about possible causes for MRI findings. The impression section is not a diagnosis.

Is it possible for headaches/migraines, and/or an injury to cause lesions? Yes.

I have aching joints
Multiple Sclerosis is not a disease of the joints. Have you been to a Rheumatologist?
