Okay Friends
I finally am getting to see my new doc Wed am. I'm starting to freak. I called and they have previous docs records and I sent copies of MRI's since I've been in Colorado. Also sent copies of pain docs records, as he suggested. Breathe. Should I bombard him with symptoms? This July had my headache fiasco. I'm planning on bringing my MS notebook for 2007, and calender with overview of 2006. Oh and my current med list. Breathe. Can anyone suggest what I might not be thinking about? or how I should approach him? Should I sit back and let the doc do his thing? That's probably what I should do. See my brain although fuzzy is working overtime. Thanks for listening. ![]()

first make sure he got all the copies of your records.
call his office and ask what time allotment they have given for your appointment. if they penciled you in for 10 -15 minutes..you know you won't have much time. i would give the dr the chance to do his thing first. if it isn't going inthe direction you want...take charge. get out your notes and go down the list. it is better to go prepared. if you don't need all of in this first appointment...well it is better than saying..oh i have that at home. kwim? but i always suggest that everyone bring a list of what is ailing you right now...or sx you have had since your last appointment. it is so hard to remember when you get into the office. blech..just having to get weighed and all the routine stuff can give you the brain fuzzy's. ![]()

Thank you for the advice. I feel calmer now. I will update meds and sx list. I'm also bringing a form for handicapped placard for cars. Hopefully he'll sign while I am there. DM thanks for the well wishes. I'll be sure and let you know how it went. ![]()

C'mon, Beth, you know the drill, let him do his thing and like the Monkey said, if it's not going well, be the boss.
I always say that your relationship with your neuro is for life, if it's not a good fit, move on! Give him the benefit of the doubt, he has all that fancy equipment and a white coat, and there's that whole medical school thing too. Make your information available to him, if he wants it. If not, just tell him you brought all that paper to memorialize him in a hand-rendered sketch.

I like to take my sx and timeline and my neuro inserts it into my record. She photo copies it so we both have copies. If you can, take along another person so that between the two of you hopefully you can remeber everything. Good luck
