Thanks Chris. I have been sleeping have sitting up for the past month which for me is very uncomfortable, but I do eventually go to sleep. I used to be able to sleep anywhere, anytime, but not lately. I feel like a zombie!

(((HUGS))) - the good kind

Sorry to hear you're getting this. I had what I call the "boa constrictor" hug from time to time. It's not fun

Of course all the tips and tricks I've found come with the disclaimer "may or may not work for you". Love a personalized disease like this, I tell you.

Heat helps me a little to breath better, but doesn't do anything for pain. Sitting straight up at the corner of my sectional helps the pain, but can't sleep sitting up.

Definitely talk to docs and see if there's anything they can do for you. Hope you feel better soon.

Here, beautiful...((((Av8rgirl))))

Trade the MS hug for a MooSe hug.

Not trying to be a wise-guy mind you, I hope you can get some relief soon.

I'm "lucky" mine just seems to hit me in my back but just below the bra line, feels like a steel band pinching the heck out of me!

I love it.....when it's gone!

I up my Neurontin and Elavil when it hits me, with doc's permission.

Jim had the hug last year Cheryl. It was kind of funny in a way because as soon as he got it I said "Oh honey, you have the MS Hug." he asked how I knew that and I said al my good friends online told me about it. Sure enough that's what it was. he said it was like he was getting a hug from a bear. He had to sit straight up to catch his breath. Laying down made it worse.

This prompted a MRI from his nuero to see if a lesion was laying somewhere to explain the sensation. Nothing showed up and she up'd his Nuerontin.

It lasted off and on about two months and hasn't returned. That's when Jim told me to never leave my internet friends with ms. :-)

Today the tightness seems to be relenting. 2nd day of new antibiotic. I hope this new symptom continues to subside. I am also taking Soma. I think maybe between the two (nixing the infection and the muscle relaxer), I am getting a little more rest at night!

Thanks for all the help and advice everyone!

thanks for the giggle, jmiller!

I had the HUG only once, back in '93.

for me, it was like a tight BELT around my waist, and it didn't go any higher.

it made it a little hard to breath, but didn't hurt much.

sorry your MS is making life difficult for you, Av8r.
