Ah, I forgot one of the doctors suggested to me a foot stool in front of the toilet to bring your knees up and bend over. Something about this position helps you relieve bowel and bladder.

Cindy,

I'm glad you got some relief - I've had this happen before and it's not fun - especially not knowing when or if relief will happen.

I just wanted to add - I'm so glad that we can all laugh about it. I know it's not really funny when it happens to us (and it's definitely not fun) - but having a sense of humor about it can actually reduce the stress and anxiety we all feel. I loved your little rhyme - and Riverwild's congratulation speech!!!:D

Now I'm wondering, is this at all bad?
The opposite is worse, and makes me so mad.

Just checked in and was very upset to read your post. Didn't quite
know what to tell you. Went on to read the rest of the posts and was happy
to read that you were able to let it gopppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeee.

I know ms can cause this. I have never had it happen, and pray that
I will not experience this problem. Talk to your neuro about this. Let us know
what his advice will be.

Oh Cindy,
I have to do intermittent self-catheterization twice a day because I started to experience this several years back. I thought I was emptying my bladder but apparently each time I went, it was not emptying completely. I was referred to a Urologist and underwent Urodynamics and I was holding more than 100 cc's of urine at times. They decided to teach me the SIC then, and I've been doing it twice daily ever since.

Now, I don't fret that I'm not emptying my bladder completely because I know that twice a day I will be cathing. I was getting urinary spasms at the time, and I haven't had them since then either. Perhaps you need an evaluation by a Urologist. If they do suggest SIC, it really isn't so bad. I'm so used to it by now, that I don't think about it. I just do it every morning and every night after I brush my teeth. I'm glad you were finally able to go. But, this is not a symptom that I would take lightly, it's just part of our lives.
