The past 4 years that I thought I might have MS my DH had been a butt about it, how I need to stay off the computer and stop self-diagnosing my self. He doesn't want to talk about it and I'm bring this one my self because a friend of mine that I had 4 years ago had MS.
Anyway when 1/2 my body went numb last month he toke me to the ER and was nice to me but told me NOT to bring up I thought it was MS and don't tell them everything that has been going on with me. "Let the Dr.'s do there job!" ![]() Well went they didn't find anything wrong DH went back to his old self. He did go with me to the neuro's office but mostly just so I didn't say that I thought it was MS. Than when the neuro didn't find anything after 3 visits and told me it was just anxiety I just know there was no hope to every get DH to believe me. Well he has been OK and hasn't pushed the "it's just anxiety, get over it". Last night we went to dinner and I told him my right leg had been numb most of the day and that while we were eating my left leg was going numb again, he said "well goodness, I wish we know why it was happing" ![]() ![]() So after dinner we went to Sam's to get groceries and I keep tripping over my own feet, DH laugh with me (I have a great since of humor about my SX and laugh about them all the time, sounds like anxiety doesn't it, LOL). Well after we get home, I was reading the board and saw the Hot Bath post and thought that was so funny about DXing people long ago by putting them in the tub so I went in the bedroom and told DH about the post. He thought that was cool and asked me if that was why I always felt sick after a hot bath. I told him I sure though so, so he said I guess that means no more hot baths for you? ![]() ![]() Later he asked if the neuro ever called me about the LP report (I posted about how my neuro will not answer my ?'s about my LP report but the neuro called DH and told him it was OK, didn't answer my ?'s), I told him no and that I asked for ALL my records so when I see my new PCP I had them. I told DH that the things from our 1st visit that we told him that was wrong was STILL wrong and that my SX list wasn't even in the file and told him about the deal on the LP report might not be all there, there might be a page missing and why I thought that. OK this is where he really floored me, he says "I think you need to get a 2nd opinion" ![]() Oh just when I think I have the man figured out. I SO happy he believes me now. I guess was part of it that he know knows it can take years for something to show up on a MRI and he saw that the LP didn't look OK.

Good for you! I'm so happy that he is finally believing you. I think a woman just knows when there is something wrong with their body.
It took me 2 years to get a diagnosis but I knew from the beginning it was MS. My ex thought it was all in my head the whole time...until I told him I wanted a divorce. Then he "believed" me...yah right. I'm glad that he is excepting of the idea now and is willing to support you. And having a sense of humor is the best thing. My doc told me the marriages that make it are the ones that can laugh at themselves ![]() Best of luck to you

it is difficult to struggle along when you dont feel believed by your MD. To do so when not being believed by your spouse is horrible!

Kudos to you! Ain't life grand!
Seriously, most people know when their bodies are misbehaving. However, sometimes it is extremely hard to get someone else to understand. ![]()

MS is no fun, but much more bearable when you have the support of your DH. Keep us posted, K?

You know it isn't really about BELIEVING you, it is about SUPPORTING you. And I am so glad that you have that in your corner now.

Well, at least you seem to be making progress on you diagnosis journey. Maybe it is MS and maybe it isn't. Only time and testing will tell..............as long as you have a supportive, progressive, and aggressive PCP and neuro.
Keep us informed.

I am sure you have heard this before but alot of times if a man can't fix it, they ignore it.
My DH is the same way. Even though I do have MS on days that I am really tired or feeling crappy he will say things like. "If you got up and did something maybe you wouldn't feel so bad" He was in denial for a long time and sometimes he still is, so I do know what you are going through. It does sound as though you DH might be coming around! It makes things a lot easier when you get that support. Good luck and take care of yourself ![]()

Glad to hear he's coming around. It's always easier to deal with things when they are on your side.
