I was working as a restaurant hostess, after quitting my job as a server (too much on the body).
At first I was doing very well...then, when I began having a lot of new sxs pop up, I started having trouble hostessing.
One Sunday we were very busy (it's a breakfast/lunch place), I messed up seating people...couldn't figure out how to follow simple rules in seating servers in order.
One of the servers complained to the boss that she hadn't been sat in 45 minutes...everyone was mad at me, and the boss cussed me out in front of everyone.
I quit the next day. Haven't worked on 13 months, because I seriously don't think I can remember new information. It's scary not knowing what's going on.

I hope you overcome the shame you seem to have felt when you had your "oops" moment at work, and that you're back on track

I found a book in the freezer once, not sure how it got there.

I'm in a very customer service oriented position, and I've had a few embarrasing moments as far as our complex billing system is concerned. I've had a few instants of bowing, scraping, etc. to keep things going.

LOL, Now when something like this happens here I don't know for sure if I did or one of the kids (but I always hope it was one of the kids).

LOL. We don't have kids. I could blame it on my cats, but don't think hubby would buy it.

I was trying to help my wife while she was at work and wash the clothes for her. I brought all of the dirty clothes out to the laundry room an commensed to turn on the water, add the soap, making sure to swish it around to disolve, and shut the lid.

About a half hour later I came back in the laundry room to put the clothes in the dryer. Imagine my surprise when I opened the washer and it was empty. I mean NO clothes and no water, nothing. I just stood there stunned for a few moments and then it set in.

I had never put the clothes IN the washer to start with.

NO, I did not tell my wife about this, are you kidding?

Just curious here, how many of you can't remember whether or not you took your medications (other than shots - those are pretty obvious - LOL)?

Or how about this, you accidentally take a double dose because you forgot you already took it?

Or like I caught myself doing this morning - I take 2 Neurontin before bed time and 1 in the a.m. I almost just took 2 this morning had them in my mouth and everything. That would have knocked me out for the rest of the day! And, to top it off, I really should have been taking my Celexa and now can't remember if I actually took it the Celexa.

Boy have I made a mess this morning. LOL. The good news is that none of it would be harmful to me. 2 Neurontins will knock me out but 2 Celexa's (total of 20 mg) will hype me up - so one will cancel out the other. LOL.

I'll bet the person who got all the customers wasn't really complaining when the tips started rolling in. LOL.

Learning new information and/or retaining that information is hard for many of us. For me it is more frustrating than scary. I work on it everyday just like regular exercise. Prevention. com has some great brain games. I spend at least 15 minutes a day working on those games.

Oh my what a thing to have happened.

Yes I remember those days, I used to forget everything. I told my supervisor that I have cognitive problems and to please be patient with me as I do forget what is told me. I explained that my short term memory was not very good. She had the friggin nerve to look me straight in the eye and say " I see nothing wrong with your memory ".

I was so mad I could not beleive it. Who was this woman a doctor? No just some pencil pusher that kissed butts to get where she was.

I left the company that afternoon, went to the doctor, told him, he told me to get the "H" out of there before they fire me. He got me onto STD and then later I had to fight for LTD.

People just do not understand.

I hope your superiors understand and help you.

In my personal life, I have trouble word finding, forgetting what I was doing, or going to do, peoples names and lots more but I can't remember

Typos are big with me, and my english was exceptional. Now? I spell and speak like a kid.

Hugs to you.

All the best.
