The one thing that does scare me about these is the heel height. I have narrow feet, so the snug fit will be great for me. The toe thingy doesn't bother me. It used to, but I got used to wearing flip flops a couple years ago. So, unless something is different for me this year, it shouldn't be a problem. I am going to try to get out and get a look at these this afternoon. I will report back about whether I took the plunge and bought them.

I sent the email from VS to my 2 sisters who worship the sun, have b-days in May and are going to Florida to celebrate the youngests 40th birthday.
The soon to be 40 yr old is getting them from our other sister. She said she couldn't get the color she wanted but wouldn't say what that color was or what she got. I'll have her report after her vaca.

Well, 20/20 did a little expose last night and their verdict is in.....!!!
The conclusion was that you don't get a workout wearing them. They also said that FFs can actually cause foot PROBLEMS if you walk in them for a long time. I can't remember the name they used for this but apparently, your feet have a tendency to turn inward while walking because of the soft middle part. 50 million sold....

Don't remember where, read a comsumer warning not to be taken in by flip-flp claims, some can actually hurt you. As a teen wore Dr Scholl's sandals. They sure felt uncomfortable enough too be working, sure was a workout to keep them on, but maybe that's why my legs look good now. (not terrific but ok) But my sister has better legs and she never wore them. HHMMM?

It was probably from the weight of the wooden sole -- those things were heavy!!!
This summer I retrieved my old Birkenstock sandals from my closet. They're pretty ratty looking but they're still SOOO comfortable!! I guess this shoe talk is better suited for the Stumble Inn but I remembered this thread being here so I wanted to update after I heard the foot pros weigh in. |

I saw that last night too! They don't do what they are said to do according to 20/20. It was an interesting segment.
Both DDs have pronation in their feet (where the foot turns in). These would certainly not be good for them. It would cause too much strain on their ankles and thus ankle sprains. No that one waitress did say that they were comfortable and yet the other lady had to cut the top as she has a high arch. I too have a high arch and would never pay $50 on shoes and have to cut them. I am guessing that so many were sold due to the comfort that the waitress claimed to have felt when she wore them. All in all, we won't be buying them in this house. We'll stick with out $5 flip flops from Target.

I thought the trainer's negative comments were interesting too. The woman's reaction about the thongie thing just not being right for all people made me wary -- too dismissive. I had no idea that the woman who invented these is the founder of Bliss Spa. That unto itself shed a little light on the hype for me. |

i just saw something on tv about these claims and they're ALL BOGUS.
don't buy into it. flip flops never did anything to support feet or improve posture etc. IMHO.

I have black patent leather flip flops and rubber, beaded cute ones. I'm in a chair, so plan on slipping the on, but didn't walk in them.
