Default Getting good results with Ampyra

I started it a month and a half ago. I was using a cane pretty much every day, which was very hard when you have to travel in airports to make your living. In the last three weeks, I have only had to use my cane or get assistance at an airport if I have been on my feet a lot or worked over 12 hrs that day. So thankful this drug is working for me and to think I almost refused to try it.

Does it have any side effects? I'm happy it's working well for you!

Good for you! It has helped me a lot also.

Recently I miscounted my meds before going out of town and wound up only getting one tablet a day (half dose). OMGosh I sure felt it! Like trying to walk through water, my legs just didn't want to go.

None. You can feel the "old" you issues of fatigue & leg drop, weakness in legs if you forget to take it. I've started carrying a few pills in a little purse thing with my Tylenol since I am never in the same place at 6 or 7 at night when I need to take the second dose of the day.

One of the first things I noticed about taking Ampyra was that my right arm started swinging again. Has anyone noticed that the arm on their weak side doesn't swing when you walk? Mine was that way. Apparently Ampyra fires up those connections.
