I was going to say one, congrats, two, how did they get those results so fast? When I sent off specimans for o-bands it took at least two weeks. Your hospital must do the test there? Kay is right about one thing, they do need to keep looking into what this whole thing could be. Too many questions, not enough answers.

I'm glad you got some answers, even if they aren't what you were looking for! We STILL have to find out WHAT is going on with you!!

I also have questions as to how they got the results back so fast. Heck, I live near you and I had to wait and it took THREE weeks for my results to be returned. The samples of CSF had to be sent out of state. Most of the stuff from my little hospital ( labs, pharmacy etc.) is handled through the same hospital you went to. Maybe they are reading them by computer now or something!

(((yabbit))) i'm glad you are feeling well enough to post. had us worried.

question the results.

make sure ALL the report has come back. not just part and someone read over it and gave you results.

I'm glad your LP came back normal but really sorry that you had to go through all the hassle.

Hope you are feeling better

This is what I am thinking happened. For those of you dx'd ms, the o-bands (oligoclonal bands) were positive and had to be counted. Those of you not dx'd or had no o-bands, faster results, nothing to see? Higher o-bands indicate possible ms. You can have a positive o-band result, no lesions. You can also have no o-bands and have ms. It's been so long since Jim had this done and I worked in the lab, so hang with me on this. lol

Basically, no o-bands indicate no ms at the time. It doesn't mean a dx 100% though. But since you had a normal MRI and negative LP, this is why they are saying you do not have ms right now.

I would still call them in the morning and ask how they got the results so quickly. Does that help?
