This is what I am thinking happened. For those of you dx'd ms, the o-bands (oligoclonal bands) were positive and had to be counted. Those of you not dx'd or had no o-bands, faster results, nothing to see? Higher o-bands indicate possible ms. You can have a positive o-band result, no lesions. You can also have no o-bands and have ms. It's been so long since Jim had this done and I worked in the lab, so hang with me on this. lol

Basically, no o-bands indicate no ms at the time. It doesn't mean a dx 100% though. But since you had a normal MRI and negative LP, this is why they are saying you do not have ms right now.

I would still call them in the morning and ask how they got the results so quickly. Does that help?
