We were dx at around the same time. I've not had another MRI. But I am SO pleased for you that you have gotten what sounds like GREAT news. You deserve some good news after all you have been through the last few months...and years, as most likely you haven't been feeling well for a while. You give me hope!

Have you further considered surgery, Rex? Those epidurals are magic, at least they were for the short period I needed them. ![]() The "something" that was bright on the sequences . . . with MS, does that normally mean lesions (inflammed?) then? Cherie

I'm 54, and surgical outcomes in patients my age normally aren't very good. So I'm not considering surgery or any sort of implanted drug pump - I don't want perpetual pain meds. My only concession to the pain is the disabled parking permit I received recently...I don't need to walk a mile from my car to the mall entrance. ![]() Quote:
Yes, if I'm reading your question correctly. MS plaques (inflammatory white matter lesions) are bright on T2-weighted and FLAIR sequences, relative to normal white matter (which is much darker on T2-weighted sequences and of medium intensity on FLAIR). The FLAIR differentiates CSF and enhanced blood vessels from inflammatory lesions (lesions which may or may not be MS). .
