im a 90/60 kinda girl. If I am in pain, or distress I can rise as high as 110/70 and my MD has always shaken his head in amazement.

My family has high BP all around, and I am the only one who doesnt. I am also the only one with MS.

I stopped smoking and it didnt change one bit. I have been smoke free for many many years now. it stays low for me.

Another low BP person here. Mines' been as low as 88/48. Usually it runs around 90/60-66.

And, yes~ I get light headed if I get up too quickly. (which doesn't happen much lately)

So.. now I'm even more confused.. my blood pressure is now in the 90s when I sit.. 92/72 with my pulse at 111.. but when I stand and feel dizzy it's 85/65 and 114.. I don't know if this is MS related because I never had problems with my blood pressure and pulse, except once after my 7 yr old was born I had bradycardia and was in the cardiac unit for 1 week. Maybe it's the meds I am on, I am going to call my Neuro. Monday morning but already seen a UGA reg. dr.. so I don't know who will see me for this.. maybe i'm just becoming a hypochondriac *lol* even tho I never had these light-headed, dizzy, chronic headache (even tho I'm on headache meds)..

Although rare, Dysautonomia can be a problem associated with MS:

http://www.ndrf.org/
http://www.mvprolapse.com/dysautonomia.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysautonomia

The 2nd link above, called "mvprolopse", talks about the link with this condition and dysautonomia too . . . there used to be someone on the forums ("mom2three") who they thought had MS, but it turned out to be "mitral valve prolapse syndrome". She had lesions due to migraines.

I can't remember what she used to advise (Cheryl, do you remember?), but something to do with a "bubble" study of the heart.

Cherie,

Thank you. Well, I already have mitral valve prolapse so maybe that's acting up. I will contact my Neuro. on Monday and I might need a referral to a Cardiologist. I used to have one in FL but haven't seen one in years. There doesn't look like there is much treatment for Dysautonomia. I guess my lesions could be from my migraines but I don't know why I am numb on the left side, have a lesion in my neck, and other MS symptoms.. knowing my luck I probably have both!

I need to get this dizziness and everything handled or I'll never be able to go back to grad school. I woke up feeling really cruddy today and my pulse was 147 *tapping the machine, maybe it's broken!* The pulse goes up when I stand.. but it's not like I'm exerting myself... but something is definitely wrong.

Thank you for the info. and links, I appreciate it!!

I didn't realize you had that too, I just remembered about Dysautonomia with MS, and then ran into the other links to mvp.

I have sent a message through to that lady, so hopefully she'll come on and talk to you about her experience.

I wouldn't mess around with something like this, Monique.

Thank you Cherie..
I will call both my Neuro and one of the UGA Dr's and see if I need to see a cardiologist or what the heck is going on. I am not worried about the low blood pressure as much as I'm worried about the fast pulse. Esp with all my health issues: MS, sickle cell trait, MVP, hypothryoid, anemic *lol* and probably some other things I don't even know of yet.

Well..they say you don't have a blood pressure problem unless there are symptoms because some people just tend to run higher or lower. I never ran this low but I'm not worried about my low blood pressure as much as my pulse is fast. And I feel worse when I stand up.. and I just took my vitals standing up and I'm 92/73 and my pulse is 134...which I think if you're over 100 that's not good. I don't want to go to the ER..esp dragging my kids there again. So hopefully I can hold out till Monday and make tons of phone calls to drs..
