Hi Barb~~ Been down that road, so know how the prep works, but by the time you read this, you may have it all behind you. (oops, sorry for the pun) Hope the procedure goes well and that they find a clean, healthy colon.

Let us know how things went, OK???

Well, I survived Woke up a few times during the procedure and it hurt like "heck." I felt like Iwas awake the whole time. For some reason, they have trouble knocking me out. The doctor blamed this on on the prescriptions I am on, but I was not taking any of them 5 years ago. I ended up having 3 polylps and the doctor said that one looked pre cancerous to him so now I have to play the waiting game for 2 weeks until the pathology reports are back.

You had trouble staying "knocked out?" Maybe the anesthetist should use a bigger hammer?

Glad you survived. Hope the polyp isn't anything to be scared about. Peace and hugs to you!

hi barb,

i'm glad it's over.
i know how hard the prep is. for me it kind of creates some pseudo flare sx's, especially of my fibromyalgia.

it's just a big stress and insult to the body, IMHO.

i hope the biospsy turns out to be negative.
my fingers are crossed for you.

They did my colonoscopy WIDE AWAKE in the mid-80's. About 1/2 way through, they let me have a valium/relaxant. (That was after a few days of bleeding, and when they discovered I had Ulcerative Colitis).

YES, it is painful.

Glad it's over with. Hope you don't need surgery, and the polyp is non-cancerous.

Cherie

I did this last year. What an ordeal the prep is. Sorry you felt so bad going into and through the procedure!

I hope you biopsy is negative and you can wait a certain number of years. Maybe by then they will figure out how to make you more comfortable.

The last time I saw my gastroenterology surgeon, she flashed the pictures she took of my GI at me. I really did not need to know what that looked like!!

Isn't technology wonderful!
